If you could get a Phenom X6 1100T for.....

Would you buy a new X6 1100T for $125.00 ?

  • Yes

  • No

I voted yes, but it's based on you already having an AMD motherboard. If not and you had to build a complete system, I would either wait to see BD(two module might be a great cheap CPU) or get an i5.

I might pay $80 tops if I already have AM3 mobo. Otherwise, [redacted] no.

No profanity please.🙂

Unless I have an AM3+ mobo and my CPU is broken is a "no-no".

Maybe for $70 like drizek said and only for the science.

So the bold text above is allowed in the tech forums now ?

Why do I get the feeling that most of the negative votes are either from current Intel users or anti-AMD fans ?

So most of you can seriously say, at roughly $75 cheaper than Newegg, that it is not a good deal ?

And if purchased, it is from Newegg.

So if you are going to vote no, please post your reasons why you selected what you did. Dont just skew the results then run.

Phenom II X6 1100T for $125 is much much much much better than any core i3 even if you building a new PC.

I vote yes

Quite a cruncher @ stock and specially overclocked and with heavy threads steps side by side with Core i7, i vote yes, its way worth the money compared to the gimped dualcore i3.

I'm an AMD fan but seriously, there's no way a 1100T would get that 33% cut. Aside that:

http://www.techpowerup.com/152390/AMD-FX-Processor-Prices-Lower-Than-Expected.html

Sources among retailers told DonanimHaber that retail prices of AMD's next generation performance desktop processor series, the AMD FX, are a lot lower than expected. On October 12, AMD will launch three new parts worldwide, the eight-core FX-8150, FX-8120, and six-core FX-6120, priced at US $245, $205, and $175, respectively.

AMD should just do that, kill off the entire Athlon II line, and make Phenom II X4s below the $100 mark.

Because AMD's entire lineup suck at current prices other than a $80 X4 810.

I voted yes, as in "I'd be willing to buy 1100T at $125 if I were in the market to buy a cpu at the time"...but if the question was more of "if Newegg dropped the price today, right now, to $125 would you place an order today, right now, for it?" then my vote would have to be a no.

Wow I want some of what yall are smoking. $70 for a 6 core that outperforms $170 intel chips in just about all the things that actually use cpu power? Talk about confessed fanboi-ism.

I voted no for the simple fact that both boards in my house that could use a 1100t I already have a 1090t in them. no sense in replacing them for a slightly faster chip.

Depends on what the rig is going to be used for. If it's a budget rig and it's going to be used for a lot of heavily multithreaded apps, then an X6 1100T for $125 seems like a good deal.

For ultra cheap workstation (for 3D rendering, CAD/CAM, etc), yes. Otherwise I would say a cheaper quad core is sufficient. 😉

Since I was I had opted for the 1090T instead of the 1055T (hard to believe BD has been delayed so long it might actually launch under the price of the 1090T), yes.

Heck, I'm semi-considering hawking my 1055T on ebay and picking one up at the current price...
