<< ah yes, the problem of Geges' ring. I believe you are at the krisis point of the dilemma. The question before you is: what is righteousness? Do I act according to the Good because it is the Good or is this only done because I fear punishment or to bring myself pleasure? If you choose to do what is wrong, what is the source of wrong? Does the source then invalidate the wrong or make it justifiable or right? Then how do we continue if your behavior doesn't change?
Can we use this to say that humans are inherently good or that we are simply conditioned, as Burgess pointed out in A Clockwork Orange? Then if we choose anything, and if God indeed is dead and everything is allowed, what would you choose?
Personally, I'll stick with the Good. In other words, in a purely inconsquential system of deontological ideology, I would act as I had been acting before, with no regard for the ends nor the means but only for the duty imposed by the nature of the relationship as a natural extension of righteousness.

dammit man, do you have to do this to every thread 😉
You're like the opposite of a thread crapper.......always searching for a deeper meaning...
I suggest you try and give a simple answer some time. Like mine: Sex! 😀
Now, if you wanna start a serious discussion, I don't believe in Good or Bad. I just see opposing view points, relative morals and lots of self serving. People don't care about doing Good or Bad, they care about what suits them best.....
