the invasion of iraq (or even before that, the invasion of kuwait)

WWI/WWII is responsible for a great deal of the industrialization of the US, globalization, and other great things. Though the war itself may have been horrible, many good things came out of it.

Though, on the Israel issue, I still think both sides are fucking retarded. This fight is the dumbest thing I've ever read about.

So you are stating the good things would not have come around if the bad things did not happen...? I disagree. There will always be defense contracts which promote the technology seen in those wars (and WWI didn't really have any breakthroughs other than tanks (correct me if I am wrong)). WWII certainly produced some breakthroughs that while used militarily also helped civilian life (radar, jet engines, nuclear energy, computers). While progressing industry there was also a cost for this rapid progression. I would argue that we might be at the same place technologically but wouldn't have the scars the wars in the 20th century caused.
