How much food do you keep at your house/apartment?
I have virtually nothing, I am perfectly happy with eating bread and cheese for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
And I wonder if I am just a tight wad, or if that's all guys.

Most of my meals consist of a mixture of rice, tuna or chicken, and vegtables. 😕

That's about it.

I usually keep a gallon of milk around, and some kind of chocolate too.

All I have in my house right now is some 9-grain bread, like 25 tuna pouches, and Total cereal.

Edit - Wait wait - I have some frozen Talapia and Salmon in my freezer, along with frozen vegetables.

That's me! That's me! I mean living alone, not having no food.

I think it's all a matter of whether or not you actually COOK. I've found that since I started cooking and learning what I can and can't make with numerous things I have more things in my cupboards. For instance, I can go to a store and buy things that I know are at a good price and just come up with something to cook from it, whereas before I ate cereal for most meals at home.

Now I have chicken, various frozen vegetables, ground beef, and salmon in my freezer. I have things like cream of mushroom soup, tuna, pasta, pasta sauce, beans, a few chicken/hamburger/tuna helpers in the cupboard, etc. Much more than before.

Ummm.... I waste money like it's going out of style, and even at my height I couldn't spend money like that on food. Tell me you're providing for a whole family or something. If not, I'm assuming you eat filet for every meal.

Well I have money for food, I just don't see the use in buying all this stuff to prepare dinner. You are just going to sh!t it out anyway. But a sandwich is easy to make. You slap a piece of meat or cheese in between two piece of bread. Sometimes I buy eggs too, because you can get like 6 meals out of 70 cents.

Where do you live? $80 a week is nothing.

Cereal, milk, oj, nilla wafers, tuna, stale candy, ice cubes, & whatever leftovers I can get from relatives. 🙂

My father typical spent less then $200 at an above average priced supermarket(stop n shop) for a family of four & two dogs. We would eat night & day. Eighty dollars is alot for one person in a week, unless all they do is buy pre-processed meals.

I've got quite a lot of food; the freezer is mostly full (about 75% frozen vegetables, but I eat a lot of those), not a whole lot in the fridge besides diet soda and milk, and the pantry is quite well-stocked with canned goods and basic ingredients.

So, lots of food (I tend to stock up when things are on sale), but not much that's in danger of going bad if I don't eat it soon.

:shocked:No, it's you. Totally you!

Let's face it, you're a single guy. Bread and cheese will suffice for a while, until you forget to take your daily vitamins.

For something different, you order pizza, right? That's hot cheese on bread!!

Okay, mix some tuna or chicken in with what you're having, plus some fresh fruits and/or veggies, and you're pretty much all set. Remember that stupid pyramid they taught you about, back in first or second grade? It still works, and will keep you healthy, especially if you combine it with some weight training and aerobic exercise. Believe me, it's a LOT easier to get into good habits when you're 20, than when you're an old geezer in your 40's, like me!!

The shevles are pretty bare right now, though I was gone for a few days so I didn't go to the store.

I end up eating out a lot too and I don't bat an eye at spending for quality.

Yeah really... $80 on food is a bargain. Wish that was my food bill
