I would join the Navy before the Army could get to me...

Same here and hopefully to serve on the Big E - CVN 65 just like my dad used to... I only can dream now anyways...

I got to see her docked at Alameda when I toured the Carl Vinson. The Big E looked awesome with an F-4 on the elevator.

I would fight for the other side 🙂

Of course you will. People these days openly praise Osama for his great actions on 9/11. But I do salute you for being very honest.

It depends on the conflict. For a just, necessary conflict, I'd go (even though I already served the requisite 8 years active and reserve previously). For Bush's Iraq vendetta, umm, no. I'd help my child avoid it, just like the politicians do. 😉
If they had found the fabled "WMD", it'd be a different story. Hell, even the stuff the U.S. gave them had been destroyed.... But hey, Halliburton, needed to generate some revenue.

God I love you people.......
If they did find the WMD you would have another excuse why you would not go...rofl

I wouldn't go even if I could. I think it's a religious war and war for oil that no "real" cause. I am not going to waste my time for that...

I didn't know there was a choice in the matter... If I'm called up to do my civic duty, well then I better get packin.

I don't think it's got much to do with whether you agree with whats happening - if your country calls for your service, thenI really don't think you have much of an option.

With 4 feet of metal rods in my back I don't have a thing to worry about and even if I did Canada is isn't that far away. 😉

story story story!

It all happened one day while he was watching He-man on the tele and tried to get out of his chair, and then he slipped on a bag of Doritoes and broke both arms, a leg, and cracked six vertebrae in his back. Tragic story.

Government = country? Pah-lese!

if there were a draft in Canada

let me tell you, things would have progressed much farther than ever foreseen

yes, i would serve my country. and i would die for my country!

i have family that served in WWII. my great uncle died when he was 19 years old! in APRIL OF 1945 he gave his life! 19 years old. landed on Juno beach, D-Day.

God BLESS HIS SOUL.

He died in intense fighting at Zutphen.

you will be remembered.

For a legit reason, I'd fight.

For Iraq or any other stupid reason, I'd be a conscientious objector.

To those who feel I "don't support the soldiers," I have many friends over in Iraq right now and they know I support them, not the cause.

What people are those? Well, outside of the nutjobs that are members of Al Qaeda and similar organizations.

Oh wait, you're just spouting inane Rushisms. Your troll is forgiven and I suggest you look for your sense of humor as envy me's post was obviously tongue-in-cheek.

Where the heck IS Zenardi...?

Future Shock

PS - personally a bit too old and over the hill for combat, but in a non-com role would be happy to enlist in the event of a true national defensive effort.

Medical disqualification 🙁

If I didn't have it though, I'd become an officer in the Air Force and hopefully fly something, that or the Navy 🙂
