while i love sonic i'm definitely going to have to go with the road runner.

i mean i dont think once in the games did i ever see a trail of smoke when i ran with sonic, but in the cartoons i remember the road runner constantly just leaving smoke behind him as he ran off.

Umm... RR reads English. Refer to any episode where Wile E. places something on the road with a sign that says "free".

And the road runner holds up a sign that says "road runners can't read."

Seems to be conflicting information. notice the picture near the bottom right. Road Runner is holding a sign that was clearly written by him... in English.

It says he can't read, not that he can't write!

The question is a marathon, not a 100 yard dash. Road-runner is not only just as fast as the others (faster), but Speedy is just a short distance runner.
