Seems to be conflicting information. notice the picture near the bottom right. Road Runner is holding a sign that was clearly written by him... in English.

Sonic takes a while to get started.. I know.. I played the games.. But, Road Runner seems to have instant acceleration. Also, Speedy does too.. But, I'd say from the perspective, Road Runner covers longer distance in the same time (running across the entire desert) while Speedy usually ran across the floor of a factory or warehouse.
