Okay, what you need to do is create a personal folders file (PST) and move all your mail in there. Then copy/move the PST file to another location and when you finish reinstalling you can reopen that PST file and move all your mail back. If its already in a PST file, then you just need to locate the file. Most likely its under, \Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

you can export everything in outlook as a .pst file
just go to file->import and export->export to a file->personal folder file
select the root item then check include all sub folders
then save the pst file created and back it up
to restore just go import and import it back
i have tried this and it works fine
If you right-click on the Outlook icon on the desktop and go to Properties. Then click on the Data files button, you should be able to see where the PST file is store if any. What kind of email service are you running? Exchange, POP3, IMAP4?Originally posted by: Chess
