If Possible how do you export or save your Outlook emails...

that you have received. I am about to format and I am curious.

Okay, what you need to do is create a personal folders file (PST) and move all your mail in there. Then copy/move the PST file to another location and when you finish reinstalling you can reopen that PST file and move all your mail back. If its already in a PST file, then you just need to locate the file. Most likely its under, \Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
 
you can export everything in outlook as a .pst file

just go to file->import and export->export to a file->personal folder file

select the root item then check include all sub folders

then save the pst file created and back it up

to restore just go import and import it back


i have tried this and it works fine

It looks like all i have is an office data file one that is 50k and archive one and a extend.dat

does that help any at all, can i copy the office data one or

If you right-click on the Outlook icon on the desktop and go to Properties. Then click on the Data files button, you should be able to see where the PST file is store if any. What kind of email service are you running? Exchange, POP3, IMAP4?

i don't think it saves the account settings though so you need to reset the account settings

but things like emails, calendar, journals etc should be saved
