This is why the notion of 'white privilege' doesn't sit well with me. Not that I think a hangnail should ruin anyone's life , but there are plenty of white people that have had a pretty rotten life. Would anyone consider the people who grow up in Appalachia to be particularly privileged? That is not the case and that is not what white privilege even means (to those speaking of it). All anyone wants is to be able to experience life as free as the freest within the society they exist in. That's not to say they want something for nothing, they want equality. Do white men have fears? Sure, but not because they are white (for the most part and of course there are exceptions because where race doesn't go, religion, sexuality or political views steps in to replace it if hate and intolerance is the aim).

I'm not going to discuss the Irishmen of times gone by. Today has enough of its own problems. As for people who grew up in Appalachia, any intolerance they might face wouldn't be due to the color of their skin. Their experience wouldn't necessarily stack up to the average white experience but their struggles have nothing to do with being white.

In fact, you'll have to get rid of class status all together. The country will have to be designed that everyone has the same opportunities. Discrimination will have to be completely obliterated. Poor areas will have to be built up. The education will have to provide the same superior education the wealthiest of Americans can buy. Healthcare must cost the same for all, that means of an illness in today's economy could break someone that it would also break a wealthy person OR (and I prefer this) make healthcare free. ... Well, I'll leave the rest up to you. When you create a balanced society then there won't be anyone to help because all people will be like you with no need for assistance.
