Unless that thing happens to be bashing a party a person thinks is wrong, of course. Then the person should not do what they think is right, but instead do what you think is right.

Do I understand your position correctly?

No, you do not.

When something is wrong it should be mentioned as such. It would be much less tiresome, though, if such criticisms didn't always come from the opposing "team" and, instead, came from within once in a while.

But no... that's not what we have on P&N. Here (and elsewhere, but I'm focusing on here) it's only Democrats/liberals who criticize Republicans/conservatives or Republicans/conservatives who criticize Democrats/liberals. Democrats/liberals never criticize each other and Republicans/conservatives never criticize each other... even when something they consider wrong was done by someone on their own "team".

I don't ask that this stop, as it's not in my purview to do so... but I do reserve the right to criticize such party/ideology-above-all-else actions once in a while. And I don't particularly care if anyone likes or doesn't like that criticism.

zsdersw, haven't you posted pretty much this exact same idea multiple times including fairly recently?

Yes it would be nice if people weren't blind partisan hacks, but how does this help?

Yes I have... and I have no delusions that it will somehow help, but that doesn't matter. I'm going to bring it up as often as I want to, whether or not anyone approves.

First you say you "think everyone should do what you think is right" and then you complain that when people actuall do what they think is right, but you feel that "something is wrong" then you say they should not do it.

It appears you just want to be able to complain about what people do.

It appears you don't know what you're talking about. Everyone should say something's wrong when they think something's wrong. All I'm saying is that it would be nice (less tiresome) if more of what someone on "the team" does that's wrong is mentioned by others on the team instead of only by the opposing team. Unless nothing ever done by your teammates is wrong, this "criticism from within" should happen a lot more than it does.

Do Republicans/conservatives ever do anything wrong, in your opinion? If so, then what I'm saying is it would be nice if other Republicans/conservatives would mention those wrongdoings once in a while... instead of deferring to Democrats/liberals. Ditto for Democrats/liberals and their wrongdoings.

Never said or implied that, either. Read what's there.. not what you think is there.

So then why do you whine so much when someone does something other than what you demand they do? You "say" people should do what they think is right. Then when they do it, you whine about it if it does not meet what you personally feel is right, complaining that they should not do it.

Should people do what they think is right, or should they do what YOU think is right? Which is it?

If only we didnt....

have money corrupting our politicians to the point they are beholden and bought for.

Frankly the narrative of both sides are crap is tired and disingenuous.

Your corporate masters are more than happy to see the pleabs squabbling...

I don't demand that anyone do anything. I'm saying it would be nice if they did certain things. It's an opinion; no one is under any obligation.. expressed or implied.. to do what I want them to do.

I don't ultimately care if they do or don't do the things I think would be nice. Doesn't mean I'm going to shut up about it, though.

I love how you dance around the issue of "criticism from within" and, instead, choose to talk about me and what you think I want. It just makes you look like more of a partisan tool in a far better way than I ever could.

meh. I find this annoying in many loud-mouthed americans online. Just because I believe in climate change does not make me a "leftard". I also believe in nuclear power, mining, & more stringent border/imigration laws.

I don't understand how "you" can politicise everything... but it's retarded.

Then your problem is with dishonesty. People saying they stand for what is right, when in reality they only apply that standard to that team.

Shrug. The problem is human nature.

If it's any consolation, I find this happens principally in two cases: Internet arguments and political arguments. So here it's the worst.

When people are conversing in person, they tend to be much more harmonious. I had an idea awhile back to test this. I would, for instance, go to a city where my Anandtech P&N nemesis resided, and offer to visit him to see if he was as much of a dick as I thought he was, and vice versa for him.

Most likely we'd get along just fine.

On the other hand, maybe only one of us would survive the knife-fight.

You just contradicted yourself. Either you do not care or you do. If you do not, you would not be complaining about it. Since you are, you obviously care.
