The rotors are probably worn out. Take it to a mechanic.

WEll after a year of bad treatment, the rotors need to be redone or replaced

Pads. Replace the pads and maybe resurface the rotors, or buy new ones for $30/ea. 🙂

Some pads have a piece of metal hanging off that's made to squeal when they're about to wear out.

The time to look at them has arrived.

Parts are cheap, the bent you over on the labor. But then again, they are performing a service and are there to make dough-ray-me.

I could probably replace my entire brake system for that..pads/rotors/shoes/drums, lines, etc..
