So possible solutions are bouncing off of you and not considered as something to try? Now I feel like someone pushing 15 year old chamomile tea.Nah, alcohol isn't the cause...but it might trigger something. I rarely ever drink.
Passive? I dunno about that, but at this point, I've just about given up on finding an actual medical cause. COULD some of it be from vasodilation? I suppose so, but the symptoms don't really point at that. (although the caffeine being a "fix" albeit a temporary one, does indicate that it MIGHT be)So possible solutions are bouncing off of you and not considered as something to try? Note that I was only mentioning alcohol as evidence that you might have a vasodilation issue, that most people don't get headaches from a couple drinks, and that you are consuming the coffee that has this effect too. The key is to understand what is happening through causative agents and make as many positive changes as possible. That might not be a miracle cure, but could help.
People who haven't been in a spine injuring event may be able to do things that you can't, that it's the cumulative effect. It doesn't matter what the average person can do, only the cause and effect on your well being.
I would keep careful logs of all factors mentioned. This has gone on long enough and you deserve some remedy. If doctors aren't helping then what remains besides DIY? Asking here? Okay, here we are,. though an appropriate group on reddit might have more expertise in this.
Just sayin', you seem to be passive at this point but you started the topic.

Nah, the magic herb ain't for me. I despise the smell and taste, and DO NOT like the buzz.Small amounts of medical cannabis helps my chronic pain greatly. Might be something to look into if you haven't already.
Tramadol is a low-level opioid. So far, the only thing they do is make me stupider than normal. (and I'm allergic to codeine and hydrocodone/vicodin. (but CAN take them with benadryl) However, they don't really do anything for the headaches. Not a fan or believer in CBD or THC.Just me, but I can imagine having Boomer's symptoms and trying a couple Tramadol tabs and a THC gummi.
I'm not recommending it; I just think I might try it myself.
Dear gawd...my neck already makes a wide range of cracks and pops when I move it...I can't imagine the sounds it would make if I did that. Not sure if this would help:
Do you walk for exercise? If you do an hour's walk in the morning, is your pain worse or better for the remainder of the day?Dear gawd...my neck already makes a wide range of cracks and pops when I move it...I can't imagine the sounds it would make if I did that.![]()
I wish I could walk for an hour...15 minutes and I'm calling a cab for a ride home. (wife doesn't drive since her stroke)Do you walk for exercise? If you do an hour's walk in the morning, is your pain worse or better for the remainder of the day?
Because of sweating? Maybe wear something with a more breathable fabric for your walks?I wish I could walk for an hour...15 minutes and I'm calling a cab for a ride home.
Do you have COPD like I do? They say someone over 70 should be able to do a mile in 20 minutes. On a good day, I do it in 30. Other times -- 35. I suppose if I take a nice rest, I could do a second mile -- and I've done that.I wish I could walk for an hour...15 minutes and I'm calling a cab for a ride home. LOL...no. Because of fucked up knees and back.Because of sweating? Maybe wear something with a more breathable fabric for yourDo you have COPD like I do? No COPD that I know of...I actually breathe pretty well...for a fat man. Just fucked up knees and back. I can't walk through a grocery store more than a little bit. I have to have one of the "cripple carts" when we do our regular shopping. This sort of scares me. I saw my lung function improve over the last year and a half. I'll have to evaluate a bit more before I conclude I can still get better.
Catch-22. You need 90 minutes walk daily to REDUCE your backpain.LOL...no. Because of fucked up knees and back.
You need to find the will to avoid further disability. Eat smaller meals. Reduce calories gradually till you get to 1500 per day. Stay there for a week or two. Then do a few cheat days if you want. Rinse. Repeat. You will start feeling the difference. I was down for 23 hours with such bad headache that I didn't eat or drink anything. My mobility actually improved.I can't walk through a grocery store more than a little bit. I have to have one of the "cripple carts" when we do our regular shopping.
Igor gives good advice, but at our age, we may not have the stamina or endurance to follow it. Myself -- I offer you the suggestion to get a big bottle of Glucosamine Chondroitin at COSTCO, and take the recommended two tabs daily.LOL...no. Because of fucked up knees and back.

Not sure what backwards walking will do for blown ACL and meniscus in both knees...Catch-22. You need 90 minutes walk daily to REDUCE your backpain.

Study Reveals How Long We Need to Walk to Prevent Chronic Back Pain
Long walks could both treat and prevent chronic low back pain, according to emerging research.www.sciencealert.com
Knees? Try long stretches of backward walking.
Sheesh...you sound like my doctor. I don't pay any attention to what he says either. You need to find the will to avoid further disability. Eat smaller meals. There's no other explanation in my own regard: After a cortisone shot in my knuckle for temporary relief of Trigger Finger last October, the TF came back. The Glucosamine can only be the singular means by which I got rid of it. I don't do finger exercises or more than I've ever done on this keyboard. My diet hasn't changed that much. It has to be the Glucosamine. I only have some hope that it might help with your knees and back.
If you try it and it doesn't work for you, well -- it won't hurt you. I think that quantity of the tablets has a price-tag of around $30. I just ordered a fresh bottle after six months religiously popping the two per day.
Can you commit to supplemental powdered bone broth soup? Any good brand you can find. Take it regularly. And do the backward walking. The body has immense capability to heal. You just need to trust it. And perseverance is key.I've tried the glucosamine/chondroitin regimen before. Didn't seem to do much...so I quit...probably after a couple of weeks
What he describes is probably beyond improvement with bone broth or glucosamine. I CAN say that I noticed the disappearance of my Trigger Finger about three weeks or so into my use of the supplement, but he needs more attentions -- possibly surgery? -- to fix his knee. Can you commit to supplemental powdered bone broth soup? It's wreaked knees. There is no juice or dust that's going repair a shredded meniscus. I'll also note that walking backward is a bad idea for old people. Can you commit to supplemental powdered bone broth soup? Any good brand you can find. Take it regularly. And do the backward walking. He's not THAT old and frailI'll also note that walking backward is a bad idea for old people.
