Eventually, but purging of inactive accounts seems to happen yearly or even less often. Does anyone know if there is a schedule?

hahaha a minimum PPD requirement would be kinda funnay..and an awful idea, we have enough crap on AT as it is ;)

I assume it gets done when jason has a spare moment or is bored...

We should have a maximum PPD, for people who post over 30 times a day on AT.

The only time I know of that a bunch inactive accounts were deleted was when they went through and removed all accounts that had zero posts. If you've made a post on the forums you probably don't have to worry about your account being deleted.

There has been a few instances of the Mods deleting inactive accounts and giving the names to longtime members. The member crab used to have a number after his name. He asked the Mods if he could have the name crab because the original crab hadn't visited the site in a few years. I've you've been inactive for a long time it is possible that the Mods will give your name to somebody else that really wants it. I don't think you have to worry about that, Stilewag. ;)

Well, it's weird nickname isn't :D

I am registeted in 20 forums with this nickname, I am active in 5 or 6 though. When I feel that a forum has something I could use, I register. I don't necessarity post, till I need to ask or say something.

I had a new problems registering this forum because mail.com went commercial. The second time I tried to register

It's just a nickname, composed of two random words found in the doctionary. Here are some more suggestions:

Featstat
Odemark
Dabstone
Dragtrim

But, chuckywang, would you abandon your current nickname (with over 9000 posts)? Besides, if I hadn't postes, you wouldn't notice me :)

I thought it was focused on "logging in", not posting. In other words, just coming here and reading/viewing posts is enough, no need to post to prevent your account from getting purged.

I didn't know there was a schedule for that.

I thought an account was only purged if someone asked to have that username and stated that it was inactive.

I have absolutely no idea what that means but glad you managed to overcome whatever it was.

Mail.com (http://www.mail.com) lets you create a free account but doesn't let you access it (read your inbox and send mail), you need to pay them money. However they say "it's FREE!". So I got in the trap, and created my mail.com address without trying to login (a combination of haste and naivete), and I just registered the forum to my (created) mail.com address. That way, I couldn't activate my AnandTech account because I couldn't read my inbox.

My PPD is increasing, but that's not saying much.

I still believe ribbon13 had the highest I'd ever seen.
