If had the chance: Apple 30 inch or Dell 30 inch

Funny thing about (1280x800) on both the Apple 30 and Dell displays is it looks almost like a native resolution! The pixel groups look crisp unlike other (non native) resolutions that appear smeared or fuzzy.

That's to be expected, since 1280x800 divides the native resolution perfectly and doesn't require any interpolation.

Exactly, that was a major advantage with UXGA as well (1600x1200), as you can easily choose the common resolution of 800x600 and get excellent results. Except 800x600 (or even 960x600 if you're using WUXGA) leaves a little to be desired - even with AA, whereas 1280x800 is still pretty respectable even for the pickiest gamers.

I guess it'd be pretty sweet to have a WQUXGA display (3840x2400), you could scale down to 1920x1200 if your video card (or, more likely, cards) couldn't handle the native res 😉

800x600 on the Sammy 213T (1600x1200 native) does NOT look nearly as clear as the 30" displays at 1280x800 so there goes that theory. 😛

neither. i'd wait until they give me some display thats worth the money, instead of crap that has ghosting, inferior color accuracy and dead pixels.

None of my LCDs suffer from these issues... and they are 2 years old. Surely the new ones are even better.
