If gasoline prices hit $3.00 a gallon, do you plan on cutting back on your driving?

that made me considering wanting to stay on college campus more longer to save my gas money.

I don't have a choice unless I chose not to work. I have no other way to get there.. Public transit is kinda out of the question for me. And I drive about 120km to and from work.

i drive around 50-75 miles a week. Only have a 10gal tank. so it wont hit me too hard, but *shrugs* i'll rpboally start looking for alternate stuff.

I get compensated, but putting gas in your car isn't the only expense when delivering pizzas - part of that money is supposed to go to helping the driver maintain their vehicle. Higher gas prices take away from that.

yikes, i just paid 28.00 for a half a tank on my 05 Max which requires premium fuel. And that was with the price at 2.49 per gallon of 93 octane. :Q

Nope, I don't really plan on changing my driving habits. I only really drive a lot during the summer anyway - when I'm up at the university (most of the year), I tend to only drive 10 miles or less each week, with the occasional road trip maybe once a month.

Well, saying "Oh, look at those poor Europeans." is foolish. It's their fault for accepting those taxes, I don't care if they're paying $15/gal. It doesn't mean we should feel lucky that our gasoline isn't as heavily taxed.

I DO feel lucky. Do you think they want to be taxed so heavily? No. They don't excercise the degree of control over their government that we do over ours.

Do you think smokers here like the extremely high taxes on cigarettes? Those taxes don't exist in Europe.

I don't go for "pleasure drives" anyways. If I want to have fun driving I jump on my 4 wheeler.
There won't be any cutting back on gas consumption even if it hits 5 bucks a gallon.

Gas just dropped $0.10 here today.

I'd love to see it go to $3.00/gallon. Won't affect me much except on annual treks to Florida and maybe a bit at the grocery when transportation companies start passing on the increased costs.

It would probably only increase my fuel expense by maybe $6 from what I'm paying a week now. Even at $5 a gallon I'm only looking at a $25 - $30 a week increase from what I'm spending now. Admittedly an extra $107 - $129 a month in gas could cut into the budget a bit. However at that point I'd think twice before taking any trips.
Mind you we're probably not that far away from $5 a gallon gas. Iirc correctly the government estimated peak oil at somewhere between 2015 and 2022 was it?
