Humans say that they are more intelligent because they build cars and cities while dolphins eat fish and play around all day. Dolphins contend they are more intelligent for the same reasons.

So the dolphins have told us that they are more intelligent than us? Sounds like someone's been smoking something pretty strong...
Way to be literate, my man!

I know I butchered the quote, but you need to recognize the Douglas Adams. If you haven't read the Hitchhiker's Guide series, do yourself a favor and get out from behind your screen, do something productive, and read those books.

This is true. If Homo-sapiens did not kill off Neanderthals, there would be two groups of "intelligent" primates on the earth. Some scientists contend that Neanderthals may have been just as smart, or smarter, than Human Beings.

So if evolution is true, then how come humans are the only that evolved into what we are today?
We do not have any equal.
Most animals have "relatives"... like different species of fish, cats, etc.

hah, if you believe in evolution then you should recognize that 'humans' evolved from neanderthals, or as they like to call it, the neanderthals with the 'better' traits outlived the 'dumber' ones. But they were not 2 different species....

You don't listen to books, you READ THEM!
Adams is classic science fiction literature. Don't be a snob about books and literature. Just because they aren't classic novels doesn't mean they aren't a good read.

Umm. they were 2 different species... there were Neanderthals, and there were Cro-Magnons (us). Maybe you should know your stuff before you laugh at others.

well from what i know they were distant cousins. its debated whether homospaiens killed em off, or interbred them off. and yea, its possible we've killed off many of our distant distant cousins along the evolutionary road🙂 like branches on a tree.

Discussions of evolution and natural selection are unfortunately fraught with mis-anthromorphism ( I made that one up). Evolution and Natural Selection don't care whether you're smart or not. They are not replacements for God, nor do they preclude the existence of a higher power.
Being smart may have been one of the things that tipped the scales and allowed us to reproduce and survive, or it may just be an accidental mutation. Being smart is an assesment of a nebulous concept of 'intelligence'. We're smart by human standards, that's all. Do you think we're smart by God's standards?

Exactly... we probably killed every other intelligent threat to us. Heck, we even kill our own species, do you really think it's that farfetched we would have killed others?
