Ecological footprint is about the resources you use, IE the amount of land you would need to be completely self sufficient, and produce JUST enough for yourself and your current lifestyle, including food production, fuel, etc.

Because bullsh!t anti-capitalist drivel is hard to understand for the simple reason that it makes no sense whatsoever to a thinking person not riddled with white liberal guilt.

The propaganda they teach in schools these days is simply shocking.

You're absolutely right. Creationism, America is the only country on the planet, MCAS tests, war for oil is OK, enforced prayer, etc. American public schools are no place for children!

You're an ass, and I hope you're sterile.

Um, I'm agnostic and personally anti-religion, so I have no idea WTF you mean by all that drivel. I don't live in MA, so I still don't have any idea WTF you're ranting about.

And the "war for oil" pile of bullsh!t is so silly and simplistic, it barely deserves a response. The US has not taken ownership of a single mideast oil well.

Who's the ass?

Here's a hint for the future:

One can be anti-liberal/pro capitalist without being a religious right wacko. Think about that the next time you feel the urge to bleat political slogans like a mindless sheep.

I wonder if anyone got < 1 planet

Think it's impossible to get that. Tried filling it out using values which you'd expect from a 3rd world country, but still selecting the Netherlands as country, and still got 1.0 planet. Try it, selecting never eating meat, no prepackaged stuff, much less waste production than others, 7 people in a multistory appartment complex in the tiniest possible space, no electricity, and no use of any transportation except walking, and you still get 1.0.

Changing the household to 1 person still leaves it at 1.0 planet btw.

ooooh, 6 planets. Of course I would LOVE to not have to drive 300 miles per week. Think greenpeace will help me out on that one by giving me the $300k I'd need to get a place near my work? Because if I lived 2 miles from my work I could even use a bike. No? Oh. Sorry. Looks like I'll be commuting for a good long time.

The math is funny. Putting all the 3rd-world answers with 7 people living in a 500sq ft "green residence" with no electricity, etc.,

TOTAL FOOTPRINT 2

2.0 / 4.5 = 1.0????

Honestly, is it even possible in the United States or any modern industrialized country to live in such a way that we'd only need one planet?
