I would rather be an asshole...

Looks like you've granted your own wish. You're living proof that it's useless to discuss basic issues of humanity with an intellectual turd or a moral midget.

FOAD, ASSHOLE!!! :|

Like I said, call me names like I give a damn. Bold it, upper case it, do whatever you wish. But by thinking you can win the war with al-qaeda who killed 3000+ innocent people in one day with humanity, you really showed your intellectual superiority.
You know that bush and co aren't in office anymore, right? There weren't any wmd's, etc. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. You can drop the mantra. It's ok, we'll forgive if you do enough penance.

It has nothing to do with "defeating al qaeda" and everything with defeating ourselves.

Let's not forget, we had all the info needed to prevent the 9/11 attacks. It wasn't a lack of information, it was inefficiency of our government agencies.

Regardless, we're never going to win the "war on terror" by listening in on phone calls, or torturing captured peoples from overseas. We can't just fight the symptoms, we need to fight the disease. And that means we need to fix our foreign policy. We need to focus on defending our own country, we need to mind our own business overseas, and stop trying to police the world. We need to actually stop fueling the hatred toward us. We need to lead the world by example, not by force.
