IMO w/broadband they're all friggin fast! Seriously, are some of you people really concerned that one browser opens up a page 1/10th of sec. faster? If anything, if you feel that your browser is slower than the other it's time to re-boot, get some more memory, cut down on the caffeine...?

I've never understood this topic?

you are correct in some sence butr IE is slower then the rest even on BB. it seems teh same on small pagers but load up something thats really big and yull see the diff. i ude opera anf FB not because they are a lil faster but because the features they have destroy IE

Try FireBird

Firebird ~= Moz + different frontend. It really doesn't render pages faster.

TROLL :|. Go back under your bridge. The only site I notice slowness on is suprnova, (which I won't link to for banning reasons ;)) which has a HUGE table. Even other relatively large sites, like slashdot comment pages, don't feel any slower.

Troll? lmao, I suppose just because I don't nef to get loads of posts like the thousands of other people I deserve worse treatment or have no less an opinion! I gave it a fair shot throughout most of my bookmarks, most of which are forums (Inc. Supernova). It may not be the same result as others, but it's my opinion on my machine, IE is faster at rendering pages with loads of images on that firebird. That includes atot, IE it's instant, firebird I can see it loading each image down the table.

I suppose I could say you are just a Microsoft basher as a flippant remark, but then again what's the point petty argument there's too many of them. :p

Maybe somebody can address this issue? It does come with a pop-up blocker that seems to work for me.

It was a sarcastic comment - the answer is "none", as far as I know.

<wavering voice>whooo whooo security </wavering voice>

all those worried about security in Ie were probably going where ya shouldn't be goin' or just dont know how to use teh internet

IE uses custom CSS as well, ding dongs...

"Tabbed browsing" tried it... 'bout as useful as a lawn jockey..

I tended to use FireBird more.
However, it is a resource hugger and it can be slow for some sites.
I wonder when will IE have the options to block popups...

people that don't like firebird are the intarweb noobs that don't bother configuring it. every single person that has used firebird on my computer has loved it. then they go home, download it and tell me that it's not working right....uhh duh, you have to configure it you retard.

that's the beauty of firebird; aside from the integrated google, ad blocking, and tabbed browing, it's incredibly flexible to fit individual users' needs. autosort allows you to download files and put specific file types into certain locations. download status bar is similar to the tab browsing - if you're downloading 10 different files, firebird can organize all your dl's in a small status bar along the bottom of the browser, rather than taking up 10 windows in your taskbar. oh, and mouse gestures anybody???

IE is the slowest because you have to kill 20pop-ups per page, kinda kills the 1/20second faster load than it does the 2minutes to close the pop-ups, that mozilla blocks for me

Explorer > Mozilla

I have Mozilla installed and I just don't seem to like it. I've always used Explorer and will probably always use it.

its a server side issue apparantly. SUCKS. if ie gets tabs, i will switch back... the incompatibilities just plain suck.

i want everyone to open up http://www.deviantart.com in both browsers and tell me if theres a difference. there most definately is. mozilla loads the images OH SO SLOWLY. i find the speed difference otherwise negligable. i stick with mozilla though, because of tabs, and tabbed bookmarks. very convenient.

I use IE w/ Avant Browser...Firebird has always loaded up slower for me, and served up pages slower, and not worked with a handful of websites. I know some of you will tell me Firebird displays css and all that the "correct" way, but I could care less whether its correct, I just want it to work.
