Idiot little Brother is getting married. 18 years old!

Talking to him won't do you any good. He'll only learn by making the mistake and living through the heartache afterwards.

I just got out of a 2 years relationship with a someone who treated me like crap. My parents and friends told me in the beginning not to do it, but I didn't listen. As the emotional (and physical) abuse raised, I finally got it through my head that she wasn't good for me. Hell, her own sister told me that she wasn't good for me and I deserved better. She was 12 years older than me (I'm 21), bipolar, divorced 3 times, lost two kids (one died after 1 month and she gave the other up for adoption).... yes, she was pretty messed up.

Love is blind and he can't see it right now... his head is up in the clouds and his thought process is being clouded at the moment.

He won't listen to you or anyone else, just be supportive to him when it blows up in his face later. That is the best thing you can do for him. Beleive me... I know.

pure... what the ... no wonder she threatens to kill herself.

what kind of culture may I ask? India?

HA! no. HMONG.

Oh, one of those cultures that states if you bang her, you have to marry her .

Well, since your brother play hide the sausage with her, he's gotta make the bed.

Tell him what I told my cousin. In his case it was a nice girl but he wasn't sure if he was ready to settle down.
Tell him there's nothing wrong with getting married but they should get engaged and live together a year before getting married. By getting engaged he is taking the first step. If in a year they still want to get married well who knows maybe it'll work out after all.

Thats why I love the american culture, freedom to explore oneself.

Sorry bro, but in this case, traditions kick in...there is no such thing as engaged.🙁

Hopefully he will change his mind before they get married. 18 is too young.

I pray they don't have kids for at least 4 years.

Yeah, I want to parade around the world with my wife when I get married...

true true true...what ever happened to that? now people go out and get married more often than i change my shirt....(i happen to really like this shirt..)

He says that being married will be ok. He just won't have any kids for awhile. Right...just like how he knew he shouldnt get married. He needs to get an operation. It reversible right?

Wtf is "HMUNG"? Someone asked your culture, you answered, and I still don't know what the hell it is, and now you are saying that he has to get married because of this unknown culture of "HMUNG".

When the priest says, "is there anyone that believes they should not be wed... forever hold your peace" KICK UP SOME DUST AND STOP IT! OR turn on your BOOM BOX with the "WHERE DO YOU GO" song by No Mercy.

He said HMONG, not HMUNG. A simple google search will tell you what it is.............

Anyways, that sucks dude. What does the rest of your family think about the girl?

Basically he took her home intending to marry, initiating the first process of getting married the hmong way. My dad did this chicken thing for her already inviting her into the family.

Hows that for an explanation?

Most of us think shes bad news. Cutting her arm MANY (like 20) times because he wanted to break it off is a NO NO in our books.

To those who looked up Hmong. I'm glad you guys took the time. Thanks!

The funeral process is interesting. I tried to find "marriage" faqs, but don't see one yet.

Is anyone else noticing how appropriate his avatar is for this situation? 😀
It makes me want to cry too 🙁

Funerals are one thing I won't change. I like them. They truly honor the deceased.
