The guy left, so what was I suppose to do, just stay there?

And way I see it, if we had gone the right way, it would cost more in time, and money (insurance etc). I'm just pissed off this idiot got away with it though. But he probably has damage to his truck too and he's the one that caused the accident and left the scene.

I fixed it the best I could, and it's not half bad of a job for an old car. :p

Dude, you could have called the police and at least remember a description of the vehicle and file a police report. It would help if you're trying to make an insurance claim.

It'll be funny if he files a police report for hit and run and blames you (he could say you rear-ended him and drove off).

And what the fuck is "not wanting to get involved in 'crash politics'"? It sounds like code for "I'm a moron."

Aren't you glad you brought it up? A bunch of armchair quarterbacks telling you what you should have done after the fact. Few, if any, read your post, so they don't even understand the circumstances.

Then, to top it off, you get a bunch on yanks telling you how it's done here when they are clueless how things work in Canada.

So it's cool to take it in the ass on a hit and run?

No wonder you guys lag behind....

He can't do that. Any insurance or police investigation would find there to be no rear-end damage on his truck and every consistency as to who hit who.

In fact, for the other driver to report some bull- shit, he could get in some serious trouble. No longer just civil, but criminal.

Haha. If I were pissed enough (not hard in a car accident) I'd have simply thrown the rock.

I would not surprised if someone hopped out of his car, aimed down a 45 and took down your tires in Texas for trying to flee the scene of an accident.

Should have called the police and gotten a report.
Not only would the driver be responsible but he would also face charges of hit-and-run.
Since you know the company, it should be VERY easy for the police to track down the truck.

where the hell do you live that a non-injury accident gets a police response?

Where do you live that your insurance company doesn't require a police report in order to file a claim against another person?

(unless you also live in a no fault state)

There will always be idiot drivers that instead of fixing their mistake by following the rules of the road (i.e. taking the left turn and turning around on that road), they choose to do whatever the hell they want. I had some woman almost sideswipe me the other day because she decided to merge into the lane I was in from an intersection... I'm not even sure how the hell she made a left turn when my side was green (unless they have a yield). But no matter what, I noticed her coming way too close to me and shifted over. Thankfully it wasn't congested and no one was near me.

Drive-thrus usually have cameras, if you had filed a police report and they had decided to investigate (big if) his plates probably would have been on tape.

this, surprised it took so long. tell the police this.

Never thought of that, but yeah it's been filed now. I don't think there's any cameras there though but maybe they're just well hidden.
