Ok we're not talking about throwing cattle out of a window here. We're talking about throwing someone's PET. Have you ever owned a pet? Most who have, love them as dear as their family members. Thus, throwing someone's pet out a frickin window is the same as throwing one of their family members. It has the same effect on the person. Therefore should be punishable the same to the offender.

How low the value of human life has sunk. Do you actually think if someone kills a human being and he gets the death penalty, it's because he made the other family members feel bad?! I dont think so. I dont wanna turn this thread into a death penalty flamefest, but seriously, get a grip. It's a sick, twisted thing he did, but he didnt kill a human being. If you wanna equate your life to a dogs life, thats fine, just dont go around advocating death for someone who kills a dog.

someone who chooses to commit acts of violence in anger is very likely to do it again, and the next time it might be a human. ergo, this person should be kept from society.

what the hell? 40 years ago people went around lynching black people. yea, that's a lot better.

Than your opinion is idiotic, it was a damn dog. No animal I don't care what kind is worth a human life. The guy might not be right in the head, but you don?t kill a person for killing an animal. If you would kill a person for killing a dog you?re crazier than the dog killer.

there is nothing about a human that makes you inherently worth more. any perceived "value" comes from the fact that you just happen to be of the same species as the beholder.

IMO assholes should be put to jail. Then the remaining 5% of worlds population would live their lives at peace.

As it was said in this thread:

i agree. this guy deserves to either get life or death penalty not because he killed an animal, but because he killed an animal for no good reason, out of anger, and a desire to create pain. such a person should not be in our society.

For all those that don't see the value of pets:

I shall toss your computer out the window and torch all your personal items and memorabilia... but don't worry, its all replaceable ;)

My god. This is the first time I am seriously shocked by what I read on ATOT. Never thought I'd see the day. People here actually believe that a pets life is just as valuable/more valuable than a human. Unbelievable. Gosh, you people are slave owners. You BOUGHT a dog! Do you buy people too?! Myabe the poor dog wants to run free instead of being on a leash or living in your apartment. I weep for the state of humanity. We've sunk to the level of dogs. :disgust:

your logic is flawed, according to you, dogs are lower than humans because humans "enslave" them?

btw, when you can tell me why my dogs' lives should be more valuable than some scumbag that expresses his emotions through violence, i'll start listening.

My pet's life is more valuable than that of someone who would throw an animal off a high rise. I would not feel bad, guilty, or even totally responsible for ending his worthless life. I'd be doing the world a favor, in fact.

Would you get mad if I destroyed something that was yours, for example, your computer or your car or even your house? Same pricinple. Those things belong to you just like your children belong to you. You form an emotional bond with it, even if it is inanimate, so when someone comes along and thoughtlessly takes it away from you, you would feel pretty pissed off too.

Not at all what I meant to say. I was saying, according to those people who believe that they are on the same level of dogs, how can they go and buy one? Would they go buy a human?

He may be a violent scumbag, but he's a human being. If you cant see that, if that needs explaining, then we have really gone down the crapper.

Sure, I'd feel pissed. He destroyed my property. I dont have an emotional bond with my computer. Jeeez. I can understand someone having an emotional bond with a pet, but not to be on the same level as human being. I cant believe I even have to argue this.

So to be human is to throw animals off the 23rd floor right?

Not at all. Most humans have never done that. Like I said countless times, this guy is a sick twisted fsck, but he's still a human being. If you want to put yourself on the same level as dogs, go ahead, but dont drag me down there with ya.

the reason people buy dogs is because we are capable of controlling them. you would have a much harder time buying a human, because the human would probably not want to just stay with you, and plot to escape, etc etc. plus, we have laws against buying humans, since it is in our mutual interest to outlaw the practice, lest ourselves get bought one day.

i know he's a human being, i never doubted that. you still have to explain why that means his life is unconditionally more valuable than an innocent creature.

If being on the "human" level is throwing dogs off of buildings because you are "angry," I'll go down there with the dogs thank you very much.

So in effect your answer is, we buy dogs because we can. We dont buy people because we cant control them and it's against the law. How pathetic. Have you any morals? Have all the moral reasons not to own someone else totally escaped you?

LOL... I'm not putting myself down there with the dogs. I'm putting the dogs up where I am and people who thinks its okay to throw animals down there with dirt. Its sad to see that you don't hold something personal.

The funny thing is, you are in the VAST minority here. Perhaps it is you that is wrong?
