Doesn't surprise me... Apple is obviously getting out of the server business, since they canceled the XServe awhile back.

I live the apple haters here. Lol

No apple hate here, just my honest opinion on apples real worth.

Nobody has posted how much apple has in cash, minus its obligations, or how much physical property apple owns.

If this is a long term project, apple should buy instead of rent. Renting for the long term is throwing your money away.

I don't think that Apple needs financial advice from an uncircumcised hillbilly

What physical property does apple own?

Cash comes and goes. A companies value should not be based off of its savings account.

You seem to discount other forms of value besides physical property. Intellectual property, design capabilities (there's value in having a design team with all the tools they need to create new designs), and branding all can have huge value. While they may not have as much physical property the company still has value because they have the ability to make massive profits.

If you want to discuss business it might help to understand it a bit better.

Intellectual property,

Intellectual property = yes, I can see that as being of value. As long as nobody claims copyright infringement, and the profits are sucked dry through royalty fees.

design capabilities (there's value in having a design team with all the tools they need to create new designs),

design capabilities = no, those "designers" are people can get up and walk out at anytime. People are not cattle and should be considered "property".

Not real property, value can vary greatly.

Lets take Sinead O'Connor as an example. Everything was going her way until she tore up a picture of the Pope on saturday night live. After that incident, her career went down the drain.

If you want to discuss business it might help to understand it a bit better.

Your probably the only person so far that has offered a real debate.

Then again, can't really bash apple for it because everyone else is doing outsourcing too these days.

Just because my neighbor lives a certain way, does not mean that I should live that same way.

Outsourcing decreases the value of the USA, while increasing the value of other countries. Not to mention eroding the tax base of communities where companies close up shop and move overseas.

I don't see why they would do this. They have a massive datacenter in North Carolina and having that there's nothing Azure could do that open source tools cannot.

My daughter, nephew and my youngest son, their ages range from 14 - 17. When they talk about games, CS is never mentioned. What games do they talk about? Call of duty and Halo.

My wifes best friends son, he is 16. What games does he talk about? Black ops, call of duty, and halo.

Even though my son and daughter have their own steam accounts, they know halo better then CS.

Where are the CS commercials on TV? But I see all kinds of other TV commercials for other games.

this dude is brilliant in all things. listen to him.

Extremely lame comeback. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

You're just jealous because you have no assets.

Maybe hosting their services at amazon is a test run to see if the project is going to be profitable? If apple can not make enough money off of it, just walk away.

If the project turns out to be profitable, maybe then the service will be moved to apples facilities.

Real world skills that can be used to build tangible products.

You claimed I (As in ME, nick1985) had no assets.

I then asked what you based that off of.

You then made a statement that made no sense regarding the topic at hand.

Try again

the topic at hand is apple renting a service instead of providing their own.

I would rather have something that I own, instead of rent. Unless, its for a short term project.

since apple is renting their service, I wonder if its going to be sold off in the near future.
