I can't help it to confirm in my mind that there's a whole lot of MAGAts that whooped it up and cheered when they saw the clip of one of their own hit that student with his car.

It's a fact the more Trump takes a ratings hit and spiral downward as a trend, the more upset his MAGAts become and true to form, they express their anger with violence against Trump's perceived enemies because this is precisely what Trump wants out of his minions. He wants to suppress and eliminate any form of criticism about him. However, with the ubiquitous cellphone cameras at the ready, the practice of lying their asses off whenever Trump and his disciples commit crimes and then try to shirk responsibility for their actions simply doesn't work anymore.

The eyewitnesses and phone cam recordings of the recent murders perped by Trump's punk thugs proved far too convincing for Trump and his lackeys to try to bullshit their way out of. Yet they, meaning Trump, his hirelings and that propaganda entertainment cable station they run sure did give it their best shot. And glory be, it totally backfired in their faces when the plethora of evidence showed up and proved the Trump propaganda campaign to shift blame onto their victims was as phony as Trump being POTUS.

You have to wonder just how much $$$ that driver is going to get gifted with from his go fund me account.
It will happen. Those people are the scum of the earth.

It is good they are taking this action now but they only did it under pressure from a lot of outside forces. Now they need to expand it to cover the shooting of Renee Good.

Trump Administration Expands Investigation of Pretti Killing

Now, federal investigators, including lawyers from the Justice Department’s civil-rights division, will participate in the probe, as is common after almost every high-profile killing by a law-enforcement officer. They will study video footage, talk to witnesses and consider other evidence, Blanche said. Homeland Security Investigations, which had been leading the probe, is now in a supporting role, officials said.

Yes, don't expect much to come from the Trump DOJ, investigating Trump's Brown Shirt executioners. Remember that the DOJ is 100% under Trumps thumb and is now used mainly to prosecute Trumps personal enemies.

What investigators find is meaningless, it will be run by Trump first, and he will decide to either let them off or not. He might have them prosecuted as a political calculation, but it won't be anything like justice.

So you guys ever watch Technology Connections? This is the midwestern guy guy who does deep dives on why dishwasher pods suck, why Peltier mini fridges barely work and how to jury rig European electric kettles using UAE plugs and a 7KW EV charger to boil a liter of water in a minute.

His latest is on solar panels and battery storage. It’s his usual interesting deep dive on the technology and worth watching.

What isn’t usual is the fake video ending at 1:02:40 followed by an amazing rant that is definitely worth the watch. Edit (rant starts around 1:18:30)

Whatever happens in these Trump run investigations is done for the exclusive purpose of protecting him and the perception of himself that he wants to project. He is one of if not the dirtiest president to have ever held the office, the whole nation knows this yet he still wants to maintain a certain image that he sees of himself.

It doesn't matter what he does or how badly he behaves. All that matters to him is whatever it is in his rotting mind that he sees himself as of which is dangerously beyond the realm and scope of reality. Moreso, the image he wants to project of himself is the same image his minions imagine they see in him. They've all set off down the Yellow Brick Road to a place where Trump is omnipotent, universally adored and revered. And no matter what he is in reality, he wants to cram that self-image down our throats by sheer force of personality.

That's where he's been having a problem with. Where he used to get clean away with lying his ass off reshaping reality to his liking, he's now more than ever being seen as the looney senile angry old man. He's pissed off at the world because what worked before has run out of steam. Every single bad thing he's done is catching up to him and the speed of which he stayed ahead of it all has slowed down to a painful pitiful crawl.

Mr. Shifty's get up and go has done got up and left. The end is nigh. He can feel his life-force draining from his body. The Accountant is at his doorstep about ready to break his door open and announce himself as The Reaper.

Sad thing about it all is that the worst is yet to come because the more dislikable things get for him, the more unpredictably dangerous he becomes.

How long before protesters mask up, causing conservatives to take issue with masked protesters while happily ignoring MASKED FUCKING GOONS EMPLOYED BY THE GOVERNMENT GOING AROUND KILLING PEOPLE.

Apologist: are the goons adhering to their department's dress code?

I'm surprised protesters are not masking up anytime they are near federal agents. If they do then Noem and Bondi will come out and say it's illegal for drivers to wear a mask to cover their face.

What is the path to victory with a shutdown? ICE and CBP have huge buckets of money to fund their operations through like 2028 from the reconciliation bill, whereas a shutdown hurts other programs like FEMA and generally hurts government workers.

Meanwhile, the House-passed DHS spending actually had some meaningful changes, like flat funding ICE, cutting the CBP budget, funding FEMA and ending some of Noem's games with that aid, and some other oversight items to keep DHS from moving money around willynilly. It definitely isn't enough, but it was pretty good given the current political power circumstances. Perhaps with more recent developments, additional things can be gained.

I think the approach of splitting DHS off the minibus and doing a CR for it to see what concessions, if any, they can squeeze out of Republicans given the disastrous impact this situation is having on their polling. Coming up on February of an election year and the clock is rapidly running out as far as locking in voter perceptions for November and that assumes Trump doesn't keep letting Stephen Miller run crazy producing even more terrible press.

Thune didn't change course for no reason. He's got vulnerable senators and the generic ballot is now more than flirting with a Senate control flip. In the end they might not agree to anything but they are agreeing to talk, which is certainly more than last time.

For sure, I think this is a fine strategy. I was speaking to the general idea of just blindly shutting things down.

I'm guessing because they want to show the right way to be.

Just in case you weren't outraged enough...

ICE claim that a man shattered his skull running into wall

Hospital people said no way his injuries were caused by running into a wall. He had at least eight skull fractures and life-threatening hemorrhages in at least five areas of his brain, according to court documents. One pathologist said “I almost think one doesn’t have to be a physician to conclude that a person can’t get skull fractures on both the right and left sides of their head and from front to back by running themselves into a wall.”

More than two weeks after Castañeda Mondragón was arrested, a U.S. District Court judge ordered him released from ICE custody. He has no family in Minnesota and coworkers have taken him in, the man’s brother said. He has significant memory loss and a long recovery ahead. He won’t be able to work for the foreseeable future, and his friends and family worry about paying for his care.

How is it oppressive government when they're enforcing the law? Obama did the same thing and no one said a word, he even gave Homan (the guy doing the same job now) a medal for the great job of removing three million illegal's.
We need to be clear about this. The only reason we have people protesting is because it was Trumps plan. If joe Biden had ordered it he would have been praised for the great job he was doing protecting our borders.

EDIT: the short answer. Homan did what Obama wanted him to do. Homan is now doing what trump wants him to do.

I realize you are purposely being intellectually dishonest but I'll reply anyway. I've seen the MAGA folks start the whatabout Obama recently with Homan and Bovino.

Did Obama hire 10's of thousansds of new federal agents and provide substandard training?
Did Obama send thousands of federal agents to red cities to grab people out of their cars and homes for deportation?
Did Obama's federal agents detain American citizens because they were not white?
Was any US citizen killed by the Obama federal agents?

How can you not see the differenence in deportation activities. I guess you must be reading / watching right wing news that doesn't tell you the stories of these activities happening everyday.

"difference between trump and obama deporting undocumented immigrants"
"While the Obama administration oversaw a higher total number of deportations, particularly in his first term, the Trump administration’s approach represented a fundamental shift toward broader interior enforcement, prioritizing the removal of all undocumented individuals rather than focusing on specific, higher-risk groups.
Key differences in their approaches include:
  • Deportation Numbers: Barack Obama is considered the "deporter in chief" by many immigrant advocacy groups, as his administration deported a record 3 million people over eight years (2009–2017). Donald Trump’s first-term deportations were lower in total, though he targeted more people in the U.S. interior.
  • Priorities (Criminal vs. General): The Obama administration, especially after 2013, focused resources on deporting undocumented immigrants who had committed serious crimes or were recent border crossers. The Trump administration removed these priorities, treating all undocumented immigrants as targets for removal, including those with no criminal records.
  • Internal vs. Border Enforcement: A large portion of Obama's deportation numbers consisted of "returns" of people caught directly at the border. Trump’s policy, particularly in his second term starting in 2025, has emphasized aggressive, high-profile arrests inside the United States (interior enforcement).
  • Use of Discretion and DACA: Obama implemented "prosecutorial discretion" in his second term to allow law-abiding immigrants to stay, and created DACA to protect young immigrants. The Trump administration sought to terminate DACA and rescinded or limited these discretionary policies, leading to the detention of individuals who might have been spared under Obama.
  • Public Perception and Tactics: Obama's deportations were often less visible, while Trump’s approach was designed to be highly publicized, utilizing theatrical, "shock and awe" raids to create a deterrent effect.
In Summary:
Obama's strategy was "felons, not families," focusing on criminal records and border enforcement. Trump's strategy broadened the net, focusing on the swift removal of any undocumented person, including those with long-term, law-abiding status. "
