People like Gman see those old stories or even modern fictional shows depicting grand court life and believe that they'd be the ones in court, whereas the reality is that they'd likely be groveling servants. Boot stomping on a human face forever.

We need to be clear about this. The only reason we have people protesting is because it was Trumps plan. If joe Biden had ordered it he would have been praised for the great job he was doing protecting our borders.

Because the Constitution is supposed to be the supreme arbitor of the law. Government is violating people's rights on a daily basis 1A and 4A to start.

They're violating/ignoring the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 10th, 14th. Bitching about things touching on/around the 3rd (not allowing Gestapo to eat or stay in private local establishments). Trying to pass legislation to change or restrict the 17th and 19th. Talking about taking action counter to the 22nd.

I'm not sure at what point the masses will start to push back. If they do at all.
 
One of my go to watch's excellent summary of what this country has become. This was likely recorded before the video of Pretti kicking the taillight of an ICE SUV or he would have included it.

It seems to me the pushback is happening now, like a rising tide. Slow, gradual, almost unnoticeable, yet there are those millions upon millions of folks who are quietly taking notice of how Trump and his fellow oligarchs are by design attempting to take their Constitutional rights and freedoms away that's glaringly manifesting itself in the thousands of personally led thugs Trump has unleashed on the nation.

I sense there's a surge, a shift in the balance of power of the people who will cast their votes this year. All of it revolving around how Trump has overplayed his iron fisted takeover of the gov't, his lawlessness, his rule by brute force, of the rise in the cost of living, of his alienating our allies in favor of our enemies.

I really do hope the trend in voting out conservatives from office keeps up through the end of this midterm year. Yet, with Trump and his willingness to do just about any lawless thing to stay in power, who knows?
