The problem is that we didn't punish the confederacy in the same manner that post war Germany punished the Nazis.
MAGA has roots in the South, but I firmly believe it to be a whole new ideological beast. Born of modern fascist appeal. A Nazi Germany 2.0.

I tend to agree, but we wouldn't be here if the confederate (and follow ons) movement had been criminalized in similar ways to what Germany did.

We never finished Reconstruction, so Jim Crow was allowed to grow and fester, and we never finished off the Civil Rights Movement to bury Jim Crow forever and make up for incomplete Reconstruction, and we have the garbage today of neo-segregation.

Also worth remembering we do have foreign adversaries that have diligently and effectively been working to destabilize our country through social media, it will be hard to quantify how much this is radicalizing people. Stack that on with algorithms feeding people into a pipeline of hate, and the already extant group of fascists that have festered in this country for decades...

Protestors at local Walmart in Albuquerque because store let in ICE without a warrant to arrest workers. People are fighting back

The protests are correct.
ICE aren't the right kind of Americans to be allowed entry.

Heard on NPR today that newsom is pushing a bill that will say it is illegal for all law enforcement cannot cover their face
Such a law is good and valid for peace time.
I hesitate to think that still applies.

Don't want MAGA Nazis to know who our forces are either. Food for thought.

If it’s illegal for protesters to wear masks why do the police get to?

I feel like we can apply the logic when the people on the right when a police officer shoots a suspect in the back when they are running away from them. If they did nothing wrong why did they run

If they (ice agents) did nothing wrong why do they hide their face?

Note the only time I feel a police officer should have their face covered is when they are an undercover agent and don’t want their identity exposed. But also they should not be that situation probably..

For some strange reason ICE didn’t need masks during the Obama administration and he was the deporter in chief.

The methodology is incorrect. You have to attack them where they live.

Nothing will change, until citizens start picking up the children of these ICE monsters, and start "deporting" them.Just swing by their daycare, or school and drop them off on a container ship going... Anywhere.

MAGAts don't feel anything, until it affects them on a personal level.

It appears the Battle for Los Angeles is over—and Team Trump has been forced to scurry away with their little tail (wink wink South Park) between their legs.

Basically, this was all just an expensive PR stunt illegal deploying troops on US soil with almost nothing to show for it. What did they achieve?
- At least $134 million in costs (see last bullet)
- Lowered morale for bored National Guard troops with nothing to do but sleep on hard floors
- Lowered morale and support for LAPD and county forces providing support for raids
- Losing more than 10 points in national support for your immigration agenda over the 60 day deployment
- Scores of pissed off Angelenos and Californians
- Potentially dozens of civil lawsuits incoming…

On that last point, it seems that out of 26 protesters charged with assaulting ICE officers or impeding enforcement actions, nearly half have been dismissed thus far by prosecutors who’ve dealt with misfiled paperwork and false claims made by the government that were easily debunked with video. In the most high profile case, they couldn’t even get the defendant’s name right on the indictment.

These are not serious people, but they are seriously jeopardizing our freedoms.
