Thanks. Saw those two shops, but am not familiar with them. I guess I'll wait until Newegg or Amazon get it.
I was looking at the i7-3770T for a SBS 2011 server upgrade (my own).
Out of curiousity...what are you going to use it for?
To philipma1957: what did you use the 2500t for?
I like the low thermal watt (45) on this for an always on computer setup.
I wonder if the i7 3770t with just the 4000 igpu would be good enough for a truly silent htpc. oh my psu is a seasonic x-660 overkill but the fan never turns on due to power not be high usage.
It would.
Im using an i5 661 for HTPC. And its just plain silly to add discrete cards to such IGPs. I dont get where the idea of discrete cards came into HTPC space. When we have IGPs thats more than plentyful.
I've got a hand-me down system with an i7-3960X and Radeon HD7970. I run BOINC all day. This system was a bad idea for someone that lives in the desert (I'm in the desert southwest). With this system on, the ambient temp. in the room goes up 6 to 10 degrees C. It's been very hot the past few weeks and it's only going to get hotter as summer approaches.
I'd like to replace the current build with one that has the i7-3770T and a GTX 670.
Thanks. I just emailed Provantage as well.based on what the i5 2500t is doing for me the i7 3770t would be really good for you. I wrote www.provantage.com about them carrying the i7 3770t for special order. I got my i5 2500t from them. factory dropped ship from costa rica. it would not hurt to ask them via email.
I am tempted to grab one for testing as igpu 4000 only htpc in a low noise unit. if the op you and me all ask maybe they will be able to special order it like they did for me with the i5 2500t.
I'm on team Anandtech for a couple of the projects I'm participating in on BOINC. Don't remember which ones though.Wow, nice rig! Hopefully crunching for the TeAm
I'll build a 3770T/670 rig for you and trade?![]()
Thanks. I just emailed Provantage as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 3770T just an underclocked 3770K? Why not buy any i7 and underclock it then?
I'm not sold. The only difference between the T and other models is possibly binning, voltage, and clocks. The larger factors effecting power consumption are going to be voltage and clock. Was your T running at the same voltage as the non-T?
