A lot of people seem confused about how to power the Corsair coolers,
the pump should be connected to the main 12v power supply and the fan to a motherboard header.

If the pump is connected to a header then it won`t run at full speed.

Are you confused about the H80? The fans both connect to the pump, which connects to a molex for power and the CPU header for speed reporting.

Technically you both are correct. It doesn't matter where your fans get their power, but I chose the motherboard since I have pwm fams. The pump gets its power from the molex connector and that should be plugged into the psu.

Hey guys, finally got my new parts.
I bought two new Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm and replaced the stock H80 fans.
Installed new ARCTIC MX-4 Thermal Paste.
The two new Noctua fans were so quiet compared to the stock fans that I set them to maximum speed, not a sound. The old ones were like a jet plane.

Temps at idle are now around 26-30c.
When running prime @100% on all cores they are around 60-66c.

Seems like the thermal paste that came with the H80 didnt do its job.

This is a huge difference :)

That is freaking awesome news! So glad to hear it was solved without too much more expense and time on your behalf.
