I also like the popup replying or posting window, who cares? You just have a stupid popup-blocker if it doesn't allow EXPLICIT popup windows.

This isn't a beta as far as I know. The test forums were a beta. Zuni posted not long ago that this version of software was done 2 months ago.

Since when is this a beta test? It seems to me we have no choice but to use it (other than leaving here altogether). I understand you may be tired of the whining, but frankly the new format seems completely worthless and annoying to me (and apparently to most of us, given the polls). Obviously the mods can do whatever they want, but I simply see no reason for this "upgrade," and it blows in a lot of major ways.

I thought it was a Beta Test, no? That's what I read in FI, I might not remember that clearly though. Anyway, all that whining won't help either.
 
There was a Beta forum set up a few months ago. It went offline a couple of months ago i think. Jason Clark (aka Zuni) said that this version of FT has been on sale already for 2 months. Therefore, this isn't Beta software, and some of the bugs that are apparant here are not really acceptable.

I'm still happily running Windows98 here, without a hitch. All this foo-foo frilly crap is bad enough, but to have so many issues on top of it, is insult to injury. It's not like there was a clammering for an update or anything.

All that being said, you can only fix bugs if they come up in testing.

They will get all the bugs worked out and everyone will get over it.

The problem is, they aren't bugs as far as I can tell, they are "features" for the most part. I can live with the hiccups re. time zone, profile, etc., but I CAN'T live with the wasted space, the "Report this to a Moderator" between EVERY post, and, most damningly, the way that thread titles don't change color after you click on them. None of these are accidents, they are the way the software is meant to work, and I see no reason for them.

You guys just need to get bigger monitors 😉

The yellow bar in between is maybe too much but the Report this to a Moderator isn't wasting space, it would be there anyway because of the Reply, Quote, etc. Buttons.

Previously the Reply, Quote etc buttons were in the box where the message text were, as was the Online Staus, PM etc buttons at the top of the post. Both of those in bars, plus the gap between posts adds a couple of lines for EACH post which is made in a thread.

Ah yeah. It was somehow IN the post. Anyway, I don't have a problem with that "wasted" space, the yellow bar is unnecessary though.
 
I don't know why they updated them. They worked fine before. Now they are just different, minus some features. What was the point?
