If they call for connection issues, pretend to check your computer sysytem and tell them their connection was disabled because Road Runner monitored some illegal mp3 and porn downloads from his computer and that the authorities had been notified. Let's see how nervous the user gets 🙂

That's awesome! I wish I would've thought of that!! What state do you work in??

Any ideas? 😀

Now, before someone goes off about the fact that you should always leave good terms, etc... well, its under control. 😉
When you call my place of work and ask them about previous employees, all they will do is confirm/deny whether you worked there or not, and whether you were fired, or left on your own. I gave them my two weeks notice.... so, no worries.

Now for ideas... Its technical support.. this shouldn't be too hard people!

I've stopped ticketing/documenting calls, and I've been arguing with customers all night.. besides being blatantly rude (thats not as fun as it used to be...)... what else can I do?

IF you really think that nothing is ever said you are extreamly naive.

The fact is alot of employers do share alot of information they legally shouldn't, you will never gind out because The prospective is not going to tell you.

extreamly? Is that the opposite of extreme? I thought you were trying to insult me for a second there. 😉

Remember though, they could still fire you.. since you are still with the company. So dont do anything stupid that could get you fired 😛

He's right, you know. I use to work in Human Resources and although by law we only had to provide the basics we could, and did tell them anything. They just could not ask us specifically if "John was a hard worker?" or if "Sally has a good attitude toward her job?". But we could always say "Yes, John worked here from 8/10/01 - 8/10/03. No he is NOT eligible for rehire." Also" He never came to work on time, was rude to the customers and did not handle working as a team very well"

All your actions have consequences so keep that in mind.

Pretend there is a fire and leave them on hold indefinately. Wonder around and bug your coworkers. Actually, the fire drill thing happened to me once. When the warning light went off, I said "Sorry Ma'am but we are having a fire. If the building doesn't burn down you should be able to call back in 15 minutes". Too bad it was a false alarm 🙁

2canSAM, We have one of the highest turnover rates of any business in this part of Ontario. Probably the top 5 of the whole province.
Management is on my side. I have a few good friends in upper management. They've made my stay here much easier than it would have been for most the other agents. I could walk out right now and not be fired. 🙂

update?

Hey Chiwawa626, if I didn't have to talk to retards like you (AOL customers) all day, I wouldn't have to feel the need for some sort of revenge. 😉

cavemanmoron, not too much chaos. I was in a good mood and took it easy for most the night.
I had someone watching the call volume/forcasts/canvas... and just made it so I didn't get any calls for the last half of my shift. The best part of the night an irate caller who demanded a supervisor. I said no, and hung up on him. 🙂

You know, I just finished up 4 years at my previous employer.

I didn't do much my last few days, but customers, people who counted on me for 4 years ... they got my full attention, up to the last minute of my employment.

Your work ethic leaves much to be desired.

What do you know about my work ethic? I worked 6 day weeks for them when they needed the help.
I work for a freaking CORPORATE SWEATSHOP that gives their employees no incentive whatsoever to do anything more than they have to. Not only are the customers abusive and trying, but the people you work with are as well. What I'm trying to say is, bite me.

"You know, Bob, it'll only make a man work just hard enough not to get fired."

There's something people never tell you after "a first impression is everything" ... and that is ... "a last impression is everything too"

SO ... based on the fact that you're willing to goof on customers, means your work ethic is jack sh!t.

I'm not saying you don't have the right to complain about everything about the place.
