I noticed the little guy checking out the big guy's pad and knew some shit was going to go down. At first I thought they were going to mate but then I noticed the little guy was way too aggressive for mating. He kept coming back for more until the big guy had had enough.

Funny story which shooting this clip. I hate spiders. Really truly hate them. I turn into a little girl when I see them. While filming this my cat walked up behind me and his whiskers brushed my leg. I jumped so high I almost hit my head on our 8' ceiling.

nice vid capture.

It is not considered fair use. You are required to have both syncronization and master use rights. Does that mean never do it? No. Does that mean you are going to go to jail, get fined, etc.? About a .000001 percent chance so far. You need music cleared to do it legally. I use buy out music and royalty free music, but that is because I do it professionally.

By the way, a better title would be "When Booty Calls Go Bad!" :D

They probably did mate, but the female usually attacks and kills the male after doing so. I mated some of my tarantulas last week and the female ripped 2 legs off of the male before I got in there and separated them :( Mature male adults don't grow their legs back, either. When a male spider molts and becomes a mature adult, it will die before it molts again. Other than the maturing molt, all spiders both male and female will regrow lost limbs on their next molt. One of my baby tarantulas had its number 3 on the left side ripped off by a cricket and it grew back after its next molt. Pretty neat.

:Q

How did you separate them? Are male spiders generally smaller than the females?

In the video you see the smaller spider do a few pelvic thrusts toward the bigger spider right before the attack. Poor guy probably just wanted a nap afterward.
