I agree with your first paragraph completely OP. In my view, anyone who's a member of ANY party has their head up their ass and is likely to be wrong more often than they're right. I also believe firmly that anyone seeking to be in politics should NEVER be allowed in politics.
That being said, I vote in every election because if I don't nothing can possibly get better. Nothing HAS gotten better even with me voting, but I can guarantee it will continue if we don't participate. It's like the old lottery ads - you can't win if you don't play.
Rubbish.
Until you outlaw political parties or allow citizens to vote in any party primary they wish, I will continue to be registered to a political party.
Any citizen in Virginia(regardless of party registration status) is able to vote in the Republican primary if they want. They can't vote in both primaries though.
The vice versa is also true for Republicans voting in Democrat primaries.
I'm a moderate, but sometimes our elections have either extreme socialist candidates and extreme social conservative/tea party candidates. It would be nice to remove the stupid candidates early so one doesn't endup having to choose between Stupid vs. Stupid in November.
Not a single political party has all the solutions.
If Delaware citizens were able to do this, I'm sure Mike Castle would be the next senator for their state.
Many voters prefer Mike Castle >> Chris Coons >> Sarah Palin Jr, Christine O'donnell.
However because of the way the system is setup, the voters lose.
Similarly, If Florida citizens were able to do this, I'm sure Charlie Crist would be the next senator for their state, and not Marc Rubio the idiot(Believe it or not, the Democrat Kenrick Meek running in that race is even more an idiot than Rubio is).
Many voters prefer Charlie Crist >> Marc Rubio >> Kenrick Meek.
However because of the way the system is setup, the voters yet again lose.
The same is going on in Alaska(along with other states) as well.
Both political parties are moving closer to the extreme ends all for the sake of party purity rather than electing people with common sense solutions.
Not a single political party has all the solutions.
