it was USED the minute you left the dealer's lot. I have a volvo, it was nice for someone to key a "V" on my gas tank cover.

What's funny is there was a Scion xB parked next to my car, and people with bad aim were trying to egg the scion and hit my car in the process along with the xB. I was not a happy camper either.

Someone recently pulled a hit and run on my husband's new 2006 Acura TL, purchased earlier this year. It's pretty scraped up, and he was so upset when it happened.

I drive a 2001 Honda Civic LX, and I don't even bat an eye when someone bumps into it. It's much less stressful driving an older/used car than a brand new one!

Sad, the TLs have great lines.

You can probably claim it, but I don't think it'd be worth it... I'm guessing your premium rates will most likely rise even if you don't tap out of your deductible.

Depends on your insurance. Vandalism often doesn't affect your premiums OR deductible. We got the windows in our mini-van shot out one night several years ago, along with several of our neighbors. (still had kids at home back then). Farmers took excellent care of us...glass company came to the house, replaced the broken windows, NO deductible, NO premium increase because it was vandalism...
Not sure how your insurance will deal with the scratch, because while it most likely IS the result of being keyed, it COULD have happened some other way, and you'll likely have to prove that it's the result of vandalism...
What about this...my paint obviously got something sprayed on it and ended up with many thousands of tiny pin sized holes all over it. Someone I know (an insurance claim guy for semi trucks) says my premiums won't go up if I turn it in to my insurance co. to get it re-painted. Is that true? Or do you never really know? I have USAA.

Not sure if this was said or not, but i think it would be cool to park in the same spot, then stakeout in another car to see if you can catch the kid. It'd be worth him doing it just to catch him. bring a baseball bat or something and smash his knuckles so that he can't grip anything for a good while. that'll teach him!

Let the suckers buy the brand new cars. I'd rather have a year old model with low mileage and a nice depreciation hit to boot :)

Sorry to hear that buddy. I know exactly how you feel.

Just bought myself a 2007 Camry SE. I parked the fathest part of the parking lots at work. A couple hrs later a black ass guy pulled in his half broken down car next to mine. His parking skill should be shot because both of his tires were crossing the line. I toll him that's very bad parking and he toll me to move my car. I decided right away that his head is too thick to even bother so I moved my car. Not gonna take any chances with my new baby.

Yesterday I saw a guy was swiving through traffic without carring for any1. So I decided to test how far he was willing to go. A SUV infront of his lane and the only way for him to continue his rage is to change into my lane. He was speeding up and I speeded up too. Now the space between my car and the SUV infront of him is too small for his car to pass. I guess the damn guy didn't want to live so he decided to cut me anyway. If I didn't slame on the break, it would have been a huge crash and my car would have been totalled and I might be in the hospitol cling on to my life.

Bought some "clear bra" put in the front to protect from airborn rocks on the road (my old camry really took a beating from these rocks). Now I mostly afraid something like this "Keyed" or some damn ass king my side. I already got a ding but it's not very bad.

That would be why I have a ?03 Cobra next to my ?95 Camry. You need more horsepower, which the Camry has always been notorious for lacking. When two cars are in the same performance range, heated competitions like that will be long and drawn out and last minute desperation ensues. When you can blow them away before they can even think about flexing their foot, and they know not to even bother, you don?t have to deal with stupid sh*t like that. Just flex your little toe and watch them beat their steering wheel in your mirror if you?re quick enough to take a peek before they disappear :D

It's nice that the new Camry's are using the 260 HP V6 but they are just catching up with everyone else now, and everyone else's V6 are quickly nearing or passing the 300 HP mark. I think someday when I'm done spending car money on the Cobra I want to build a 500 HP 3S-GTE for the Camry, that would be funny as hell. My next purchase however is upgrading the Cobra's Kenne Bell 2.4 to the new 2.8: more boost and timing with less octane = higher tire bill.

i drive an 11 year old car. no worries... until it got stolen last month. the cop tells me its one on the most easily stolen vehicles. awesome.

i got it back 3 weeks later, and in the mean time, my insurance company put me up in an '06 mazda6. it was nice having "new" for a fews weeks, but now im back to oldsmobile goodness. my wife and i are probably going to buy a newer car after i get out of school, and get actual income. then we'll be ready for.. kids. hooray.

Well we bought the car in anticipation of a move early next year. We're moving from California to North Carolina and driving there in this vehicle. When we're there, this will be my daily commute vehicle, so it will see far more use.
