Just you?

I pay $12 for Kaiser, and it's low deductible blah blah whatever. Would be $30/month if I added a spouse.

....I call shens, or your company just flat-out sucks.

I wish I could call it shens but that is not the case.

Bahaha... Where are our Dear Leader's lapdogs?

Anyone with an ounce of common sense told you all this would happen. I made a thread about it months ago, promising we would start seeing these posts. And here they are.

Nothing in life is free OP. You're supposed to get a warm fuzzy feeling cause you're paying for people on the handout train to be able to get their pain meds for nearly free rather than paying ER visit costs. They gotta afford that late model chrysler somehow!

Well let's see.

In my current job between this year and last year my premiums stayed the same.

Previous job went up every single year for five years. Job before that went up over the two years, before that went up every year for three years and before that I was uninsured or a student on my parent's insurance.

So in 12 years of paying it went up every year except last year albeit over different companies. I'd say anyone with an ounce of common sense would already know that insurance costs have been skyrocketing for a long time and pretending this is a new issue thanks to ACA is laughably ignorant of the history of insurance in this country.

For as long as I've been in the workforce every year some people have gotten screwed and some people haven't when it comes to insurance. The big difference is that last two years, this year and I assume next year companies see a golden chance to stop eating those costs and pass them on under the guise of ACA.

I wish you were trolling because not only are you a giant doormat to your wife/overlord, but your company is boning you over big time.

I pay around ...$160 per month, and I have a pretty good health plan. No co-pay, $350 deduct. and a total yearly out of pocket expensive of $2k.

I am on the cheapest plan which is Kaiser. They offer Blue Cross but it's even more.

for just me and my wife on kaiser ours is 400 a month so if you have kids on top of that it's about right. bend over and take it! :)

Read the OP's claim again. It's $2100 per month. That's ridiculous. I have a $0 deductible, $10/visit, no copay for ER if admitted, $2 generic prescriptions... And, a family plan. It doesn't cost anywhere near the OP's claim.

.
He said $500 from him plus his companies $1600. My employer charges $900 from us for family, not sure what they pay. (I know of only two people that pay for it.) If I recall from my W2 they paid around $10k for my coverage.

I checked the Kaiser website on the available plans. I looked at the top tier one (Platinum) and it's $860. However the coverage of the Platinum plan is not as good as mine. Most visits with my plan (called the KFHP 1000) are $0 with some being $20 co-pay without deductible. So I don't know what to tell you.

Some if I were to get coverage without going through my company I would have to pay more for less coverage.

This is for a family plan? Wow.

How much is the individual plan?

I have Kaiser as well but my company pays for 100% of the premium since it's an individual plan.

That's insane. So glad I don't have to pay any of that here. I'd barely be able to afford to add another $500/mo to my budget.
It's pretty easy to say you spend less on health care, but to say you don't pay for any of that is pure ignorance. Be smarter than that.
