I will be 65 on Tuesday! How to celebrate in home isolation?

Among my friends we all considered the 65th birthday the best one since you were a little kid. Reason being most of us are self employed and could now go on Medicare and actually have real & affordable healthcare. But all of those parties were a year or so before Covid, no idea what to suggest to do. And congrats on continuing the good fight for survival.

What was the question again? Oh, right. Cats, kitties and kittens are always the right answer. But you have to find non-destructive ways of putting up cat walks and ramps and cat trees. And then when you go to bed have them all snuggle up with you. Probably one will go straight for your face, but you can usually coax them to just lie on your head. Another will probably prefer your feet. He or she will no doubt become your favorite. And if you have a third, it will probably just bunch up into a cat loaf and purr contentedly. There really is no stronger medicine.

I love both of our cats but must confess that my favorite is the 18 pound chonky boi who sleeps with us every night. He starts up between us, purring and getting attention, then moves down to my feet. ❤

So you are presently covered under some med. ins., correct? Just concerned...missing enrolling in Medicare B when "supposed to" enroll can have economic consequences, like penalty payments for the rest of your life.

When the time comes, and it will, consider getting twin Maine C00ns or Siberians. They don't have to be pure breds though. Partial breeds show up in the shelters from time to time. Don't know much about Siberians but a half Maine C00n is still going to be plenty big. Mine used to like to play a cat version of tug of war except it more like 'see if you can make me move sucka.'

edit: if you decide to do that though, stock up on hairball remedy and try to be as religious as possible in giving it to them. Marmalade was forever cleaning herself, and me when I let her. I don't know how the wild kitties manage it without choking to death, but the constant hacking really isn't good for them so you want them to be nicely lubed so the hairballs are inside of them just long enough to say howdy.

Another vote for Maine C00n acquisition here, and Happy Birthday Jean! Stay home and stay warm with fur babies and quantities of chocolate, that's my advice.
