You know I've always thought about that. If I ever got a manual no one in my family knows how to drive one so how am I gonna get to the parking lot?? ;) Have fun.

Heh...a friend of mine got an IS300 for her 16th birthday. It's best not to think about it (although in my case, she lets me drive it sometimes :p)

Man...no matter how much money I ever had I couldn't imagine spoiling a kid like that. No kid needs a luxury car, that's money down the tube IMO.

Oh, I agree. My first car was a POS 1990 Ford Tempo...but I was glad to get it. (My friend wasn't ungrateful for her car, but still...lots of kids who receive expensive cars are.)

Yep, and it's annoying as hell.

My car has rust, my car has some problems, my car's old, but I still love it, just because it's mine.

That's the kind of attitude people need to have.

I gotta get a job to pay the insurance so i dont get off like some rich kid who got parents who pay for everything because i dont. :( ;( im hooked to the car from the 1st day we drove in it. but ya empty parking lot+learning is a good place to learn how to drive. neways im grateful and my dad can drive it anytime he wants to.

The parents are so used to spoiling their kids by that point that the way they justify it in their mind is that it's "safer." Bullsh1t, any car is safe if you're a good driver.

I happen to like her car, and she doesn't think it was a POS either...Hell, I should be so lucky as to receive a POS like that...

I'm getting an nice accord for my first car from my real dad (pappy = stepdad) which isn't a bad car.

I totally agree. My first car was a used '89 Ford Tempo about 10 years ago even though my parents are wealthy and I learned with that car. I was thankful to have a car though. It was a good car to learn driving with, no accidents, no tickets, although it still got dinged from usual wears.

Just got '05 G35 coupe a couple of months ago, a real car at last.

hey, i'm a rich kid with rich parents who can pay for everything . . . but if you look at my post above, i'm getting a POS 1995 Camry

my sister, who is about 6½ years older than me got a POS Volvo 740GLE (that sometimes, would not even START)

it's not just that parents have money to give their kids awesome cars, it's that :

1) they are complete pushovers

and/or

2) they have absolutely no values

That may be so (honestly, I don't research $30k cars that I have no intention of ever buying...), but just because it's not the end-all, be-all of $30k cars doesn't mean it's crap. :p

NICE!!!!

I like the sedan better, but both are awesome cars.

Heh, I can't wait until I get my license . . . I'd love to drive my uncle's G35 . . .

well, a year ago, my dad gave me an offer that he would buy me a $30,000 car and get himself a $50,000 car

so i researched $30K cars :

1) Lexus IS 300
2) BMW 330i
3) Infiniti G35
4) Acura TL
5) Acura TSX

of course i didn't really jump on it since i told him that i would be going to college about a year after i get my license, so a new car would be a waste . . .

i dont get my license until end of junior year of HS

Damn, I'm rich, he's rich, oh look, I'm rich, as well.

Where are all the regular families with regular non-rich parents in this thread? They seem to be lacking. Haha oh well.

My parents aren't rich. Not even close to it. My mom has never had a car and my dad drives a cheap (relatively) 1983 or so ...Mercedes? I forget, but he only paid $2500 for it :p
