1. Network administration. And I dont mean that "ghey" (what a kiddiot word) Windows crap. I mean the hardcore UNIX network. Try adminning one of those from a Windows machine without downloading third party tools or using software from your OS vendor that did not come with your OS.
Get a sun box IMO if you want network admin. Solaris 2.8 is much faster with it's version of x-windows than my iMac was and Suns are noted for stability and scaleablity. From a sprac all the way to the farm you have an array of choices which are better.
2. Photo editting.
Photoshop works faster on a PC becasue of hardware graphic acceleration which the mac does'nt support, plus there's more filters and third party addin's becasue more people write for it.
3. Movie editting.
Agreed from things Ive read
4. You get away from the old POS backwards compatibility of x86.
Hum. XP is a all new kernal like carbon in OSX. XP has emulation like OSX for lagacy apps but it actually works well.
5. Mac OS X makes sense. I cant say the same thing about Windows.
? I have no idea what this means. Care to explain. To me XP is wat easier to use and navigate with explorer than OSX with Sherlock.
6. Mac users will like it better than a PC.
Poor un-enlightend souls. Pay more for less?
7. Plenty of good and free software.
More on the PC side by an order of magnitude or two (base 10)
8. Owning a Mac makes it easier to piss off stupid x86 zealots.
Conversly owning a PC pisses of Mac users and they can't connect to any windows network without Dave.
9. Beautiful cases.
I agree. Nothing beats Apple industrial design team. From the iPod to the silver G4 cases Apple owns.
10. Beautiful OS in both looks and usability. The speed will get much better with 10.2 (much like 10.1 was MUCH faster) because of gcc upgrades.
I sure hope so. OSX is basically unusable IMO. I do like the terminal window for ftp and telnet sessions.
