and he had B&W monitors.

Needless to say, I was as giddy as a school girl to see them...and oh my, he had them plugged into a a Mitsubishi Reciever playing FM radio, and ONLY FM radio...no CD or anything:(

I complemented him on his choice of monitors and he scoffed "bah, these old things?"

Needless to say, I was crushed:(

<--hugs his el-cheapo (in comparison) Mirage speakers and cries....

That is like dising your Ferrari in front of a large crowd....it prompts sever sobbing by many:(

That's when you suggest that if he wants to upgrade his system you will be happy to find a home for them.

Heh - I have a friend with a really nice, restored '67 Charger. He was driving to a car show and a guy in a Ferrari starts to follow him. When he got off at his exit he pulled into a gas station and the Ferrari pulls up next to him. The Ferrari guy gets out and starts drooling over the Charger and says, "Wow, man. This is a great car." My friend says, "Yeah, but nothing compared to yours." The Ferrari guy says, "This old thing? Eh, it's okay."

My friend was going to offer a straight up trade but knew his wife would kill him.
