you won't even get that fast - top speed is limited to 118 mph(electronically limited)- (just because the speedo shows 160mph, it doens't mean you can go that fast).
Just make a few changes and reflash the EEPROM. No more limiter. ;)

Yeah, then maybe you'll be able to hit 115mph...

Am I the devil?

I don't know about the rest of the US but outside Columbia, SC they've posted 80mph on a freeway with a recommended minimum of 65.

What? Which highway?

I was thinking the Mazda 3 was a sports car/sedan vehicle, but I guess it's just a family sedan after looking it up on edmunds. I'm not really familiar with foreign cars.

Im not talking about the mazda 3. im talking about my Hyundai Tiburon SE V6

i know mine can hit 134 but then it runs out of power, and hits the RPM limiter.

atlest i know i can go faster than most of my friends and their "sporty" cars

Perfectly normal activity. It is called "acclimatization". You have to know what your vehicle is capable of.

The top speed isn't 160. That's just the speedo. That car lacks the power to go 160. With only 172 hp, you won't be able to go much over 130.

Indeed. If that were the case, I could get 199mph as my readout's digital.

Sure, I've done it on the 407 Express Toll Route in Ontario.

Oh, for public Knowledge, the top speed of a 1999 Mazda Protege SE, 1.6L DOHC Manual, is 175Kph.
