What the heck are you trying to imply? Are we supposed to infer some kind of sexual innuendo from your sentences? Are you coming on to us?

Just curious.

I think it is a dug777 thing, I tend to use the wink emoticon sparingly

I guess one exception doesn't break the generalization, maybe there are other australians with a penchant for the wink emoticon :p

I don't mind when people wink in person, altho I don't really do it much

You do realize what australians sounds like, right, OP?

You will end up killing yourself from the noise that comes out of their mouths.

LMAO, that is too freakin funny :D

I agree that the accent can be annoying if you're not accustommed to it. But it's really not that bad once you've been around it awhile.

GL on the move OP, it sounds like a nice venture your setting up for yourself!

I'd like to live around Cairns, tropical forests, moderate climate and right next to the Great Barrier Reef. I have never actually been there though.

Damn, you Australians sound like you have it good. :)

Your internet is better than mine here ffs...Canada ftl in this case.

And lol @ 0C being a record cold temperature...i think that'd be the biggest change i'd have to get used to.
It's -20C for like half the year here, & 30C = sweltering hot for me.

I have relatives in WA, the wife moved there from the US 25 yrs ago, the husband and kids are natives. They've been back here to the US a couple times over the past few yrs and now they're interested in moving back here. I guess it has a lot to do with having a lot of family in the western US. There really isn't much different there in terms of day-to-day life sort of things, just another modern western industrialized nation, just another flavor.

the climate is about right

as to Austrailians "advantage" ... how much are you guys paying for PC8000 or [crappy] PS3?

almost double

admittedly, your girls are nice ... i'd put them 2nd to SoCal ... at lkeast the ones who travel or are exports

like the beer ... better than the average in the USA
[but where isn't?]

and *don't* forget cyclones

they are a blast

No one has mentioned the political climate. Anything has to be better than the current situation in the US.

Sydney is a very beautiful place, very similar to San Francisco minus the overwhelming number of homeless and people of "alternative" lifestyles.

You can't just "move" to another country, can you?

Don't you have to meet some kind of requirements? How exactly do you obtain citizenship?

I'm pretty sure Western countries aren't going to turn down Americans.

Umm...you bet your ass they will. Its so incredibly hard to just move to another country like Australia, Switzerland, New Zealand, ect. If you don't have some connection (spouse, etc), a company who can sponsor you, or tons of cash it's basically impossible.

Most people have no idea how hard it is. Go ahead, just try it.

You're not going to just waltz in, put it that way ;)

But again, if you're young, have a degree, and haven't spent years fighting in Afghanistan, we might take ya ;)

Is any hazing or initiation ritual necessary for one to attain full Oz-ship?
