If you love hummus, a food processor is basically a must. I have a nice KitchenAid (~$250) and making hummus is super easy. Put all ingredients in. Push 'go'. Add water until it's at a good consistency. I don't even chop the garlic; peel it and dump it in.

The only hard part is squeezing the lemon and try to pick out the seeds.

I introduced my daughter to the joys of falafel a few weeks ago. She loved them. I ended up getting Fantastic Foods instant mix, but next time I'll make them from scratch.

i tried the new york times baked falafel method and completely failed. i think i should use canned beans next time instead of dried. or maybe the beans should have been cooked (it didn't mention that).

edit: all falafel in houston is green.

Yep. Lots of Mediterranean places here in the bay area. Most of them are halal as well. I'm Muslim so that's important to me.

I'm Jewish, so kosher shwarma is important to me, which I can thankfully find around NY/NJ area. Amba makes shwarma 100x better.

Go buy one at your local supermarket. They usually have them and they are cheap...like a few dollars.

I would but we are in the process of moving. Kinda worried about not having enough room in our storage container so we've put a halt on buying any non-consumable.

If you have a Trader Joe's near you then you should give their hummus a try, its quite a bit better than the stuff you can get from the normal grocer. Cilantro and Jalapeno is my favorite.
