I forgot to mention ... I hate RPG's 😛

Well...to each his own.

How about:

Elite Beat Agents
Mariokart DS
Advance Wars Duel Strike
Clubhouse Games

Yah mario kart i've played a bit and I haven't tried Advance Wars, but it sounds like its a turn based game which I don't like.

But those other 2 I'll check out.

Also God of War is supposed to be coming to the PSP. I haven't picked up a PSP yet but once that game comes out, i'm totally getting one.

Rocket Slime is pretty good, it's kind of a pseudo-RPG. I guess it would depend on what you don't like about RPGs.

If you're really looking for a PSP I have a 1.5 Firmware I can probably be convinced to sell or trade. I ended up buying a DS and never mess with the PSP any more other than the occasional home brew.

About the only reason I got a DS was for the Castlevania and Dragon Warrior series. Now if they'd make a freakin Fire Emblem series.

Amen!

Although there are two GBA Fire Emblem games that I still have to beat.

most of the time I'd want to play some iteration of sport/racing game.

I think the DS doesn't have what I want. Hence PSP wins. It'd also be nice to have to play movies, homebrew, etc.

Neither is 'better'. It just depends on what you want. I'd prefer a PSP, but I don't have a need to buy one. plus: isn't there a pending psp revision coming? (I could just be talking out of my ass with this though)

I got a DS Lite on my lunch break, yea me, the one who started this friggin HUGE thread...

I hear users talking about a MicroSD on the DS? Ugh... were is it? I got a DS Lite

I chose the DS because its simple fun for traveling. I dont need it for media playing or want not because I have my work issued laptop for that...

Anyway, were is this MicroSD port on the DS?!?!?!

You have to buy a flash card that in turn then takes the microSD card.

Its amazing what you can find when your not hungover anymore...

Heh, I just traded my 1.5 PSP for a DS Lite a few weeks ago 😛

N-Gage.

i have both, NDS for the win. I threw PSP to the doghouse and the GF has been playing Puzzle Quest on it non-stop.

I would say PSP. You can find one with firmware version 2.8 and below on ebay (or here) for around the same cost as a new DS lite. With 2.8 or below, you can easily downgrade to 1.5 and install custom firmware.
With custom firmware, you can...

Play PS1 games.
Run emulators.
Use Homebrew Apps.

The PSP's game selection isn't so hot, but neither is the DS's, and being able to play PS1 games at full speed is pretty awesome.

Congrats on your purchase

Now you need games:
Mario Kart DS, CastleVania: DS, Advance Wars: DS, New Super Mario Bros, Meteos, Kirby: Canvas Curse, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Super Mario 64 DS, Tetris DS, Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, Metroid Prime: Hunters, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, Sonic Rush, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Lunar Knights, Metroid Prime Pinball, Trauma Center: Under the Knife, Hotel Dusk: Room 215, Mega Man ZX, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, Star Fox Command

And GBA, if you didn't have one:
Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, Advance Wars, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Metroid Fusion, Final Fantasy VI Advance, The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Metroid: Zero Mission, Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, Golden Sun, Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, Final Fantasy IV Advance, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo Revival, Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis, Street Fighter Alpha 3, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, Gunstar Super Heroes, Final Fantasy V Advance

That should keep you busy.

With a DS, you can go on AIM and talk to smarterchild who can give you movie times, directions, current news, weather, games, etc. It's really nifty.
