I don't know about cheaper. When I want something I try to get what I want. I'm quite intrigued with this one.

Creative Zen Vision 60 Gig

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Every legal online store uses DRM and all the mp3 players that support DRM also support non-DRM songs. As a matter of fact, I dont have any DRM mp3s on my Zune.

And to the Zune, I have one and love it. You can convert any movies you have with third party (free) software, so yes you have put recorded tv shows on it.

What do you think Zune is? Wanna take a guess? I'll give you a hint... It starts with "Toshiba" and ends with "Gigabeat S"..;)

The Zune is basically a Gigabeat S30. Except the Zune has a better, faster interface. And Wifi.

Bill Gates said that the Zune is future proof. The hardware is there, it just needs the right firmware. This thing is gonna rock out loud with the next firmware.

So the smart answer is to wait after christmas and get the next gen Zune. Or go out now and get a Nano.

sorry OP, people here are just pumped up with apples and softies in their blood.

Hehe, you have a point, though some did try to answer my question, but really this is all good information I enjoy what everyone has to say.

So let me get this straight, the Zune is able to play DRM music of course, but also any mp3 that in not using DRM?? Do you think that there could ever be a firmware upgrade that makes it only able to play DRM?? Or do you think that m$ will allow users the choice of protected content vs free flowing get where you want mp3's? As long as that option is there, I am still liking the Zune, but before I buy anything, I will check out everything other posters have talked about and see what will be better for me in the long run.

Hell will freeze over before MS, or any other mp3 manufacturer, makes it so their players will only play DRM mp3s.

screw the zune, its ugly and microsoft bent right over for the riaa(universal music) by giving them a cut of every zune sold. bad precedent. bad bad bad.

recently universal went after apple trying to get a cut of every ipod sold now too. just wait till the rest of the music companies try to follow suit.

anyways it shows total lack of spine in that microsoft division. apple atleast stood up to the music industries attempt to raise prices and keeps its drm rather weak. ms bent right over on day one. can't support that.

and well, its basically dead in the water. wallstreet journal said it was tops of the sales ranks in amazon electronics for only 3 days after launch.

now the top 10 are ipod dominated, #1,2,4,7,8,9 all ipods.

current zune sales rank #269 (brown) #477(white) #72(black)

its heavy, big, and has lousy battery life, ugly, and microsoft is gay for the riaa. just a poor product.

The Vision W and the M are awesome players. The fact that MS didn't have Wifi built into the Zune that could...oh...I don't know...DOWNLOAD FREAKIN' SONGS FROM YOUR PC OR THEIR SERVICE was about the second dumbest oversight I've seen.

The first oversight would be MS forgetting to make the Zune compatible with Vista. I'm sure they're going to fix this, but come on! Didn't they get the memo about the Vista release????

I agree, the Zen Vision W is awesome, but I'd only use it primarily as a video player. It's much too bulky to use as an audio player. BTW, Amazon has it the cheapest (~360 for 60gb).

Try it out first, though, because some people don't like the menus. It works with any software (I use WMP, but it also works with Explorer and Creative's stuff). The stuff from Creative can even convert video for it. And you can record from the radio (depending on the firmware. Creative recently put out an update that killed that feature, but I got mine when it first came out, so I don't update anymore.) Plus, not everyone has one, so you don't really fit in with a fan-boi cult or whatever. Plus it just rocks. And it has output to TV with the RCA cables.

Creative listened and added radio recording back with the latest firmware.

Wow, that's pretty impressive. Now I'm getting more excited about this. In retrospect though, this is why I'm not hanging out at Hot Deals. Must use control.

iTunes and a Nano. :)

You are a moron as well. iPod/tunes also have a rights management system. Stop spewing incorrect information that will affect people's decisions.

Only a moron wouldn't know that most every name brand MP3 player has "rights management"

I finally had a chance to check out the zen vision w, very nice I must say. My only real complaint is that it uses compactflash. All other devices that I have use SD, and just recently bought a 2GB card for my Wii. Not that it really should matter anyway, but still it bugs me. ;) I also saw the zen vision m. Only difference that I am seeing is that it is not widescreen, anything else that I should be aware of?

Choices, choices, choices....still got some shopping around to do.
