I took my car to the mechanic yesterday..

i took my car to a mechanic yesterday for a tune up, he said I needed a tranny flush, oil change, blinker fluid change, headlight adjustment, and differential fluid change, which I was fine with. All going to cost around $200. Though I started to get weary when he also said that my radiator is going to spring a leak and that it needs to be replaced asap, which is going to cost around $1000. Also he may have to change the head gasket which is also going to be lots of money as there is oil in the coolant? He mentioned something about os2 sensors? I dunno, but he said that they need to replaced since the car has 80,000 miles on it.

This is going to cost me around $1423 according to him, that is if he DOESN't change the head gasket which would be an additional $1500+, he says that next time I get an oil change, that I have to change the headgasket. Think I'm getting ripped off? Should I got to another mechanic? what kind of estimate should I expect?

I think you are getting ripped off. How does he know your rad is going to leak? And why would it cost $1000 to replace it? A radiator costs around $200 typically (Lots of times less than this) and labor should be a max of 2 hours.

Go to a diferent shop and report this guy to your local bbb

Oil in the coolant typically indicates a bad headgasket. It could also indicate a bad transmission or engine oil cooler (they are usually inside the end tanks of the radiator, and if they're leaky, would cause oil to mix with the coolant).

Check your engine oil and tranny fluid for signs of coolant contamination.

What car do you drive?

Now there's a thing didnt know blinkers had fluid,

anyways yesterday i had oil, filters, air, pollen, fuel, MOT (UK yearly safty test) front wishbone joints, 2 x Rear coil springs, total cost £495 that included the 17.5% sales tax.

You man saw you coming expecially with the blinker fluid 🙂

02 sensors will tell you when they need changing as the bloody engine light will come on.

head gasket = water in the oil not the other way round

your getting ripped off, learn how to do it and save money and the hassle of it. they have auto repair books everywhere. its easy

I get my blinker fluid replace/flushed every time I take it to jiffy lube, but because my car's sprocket wasn't working too well, I took it to the mechanic. Are my repair costs what they should be?

I just had my tires filled with cement to prevent them from leaking air. You should ask your mechanic about having it done, it was the single best investment I've ever made

Wouldn't the car ride rough though?

I fill mine with helium. It gives you a better ride, reduces unsprung mass, and prevents early hardening of the rubber by providing an inert environment!

Don't forget, you will also need new muffler bearings.
Thats not gonna be cheap, all this could have been avoided if he had rotated his spark plugs regularly.
