A friend of my wife and I got her flu shot around 2 weeks ago. Sunday she was not feeling well, Monday she woke up with a 102 fever, husband took her to family Dr., rapid flu test showed positive for flu.

Dr. gave her some Tamiflu and sent her home

The person in question works the front desk for a city water department. She has face-to-face interaction all day with people, talking about payments, receiving payments,,, is a white female around 35 years old with no underlying health conditions.

She did not want to get sick, so she got a flu shot. I thought the flu vaccine were supposed to prevent you from getting the flu?
We discussed this at length already, you dumb fuck.

Like the real world, this place has morons. The OP proves that point.

I am beginning to think he's actually crazy. He wants to be off the grid, but he demands health care while eschewing immunizations. That he has a litter of children and guns is also a bonus.

Things that amaze me - first, the state of the education system in some states where people are so ignorant as to not know simple things about things like flu vaccines - they don't protect against every strain, and they don't start working instantly - protection isn't really effective for a week or two after getting the shot.

But, what amazes me more is that some people are so willfully ignorant, or just plain dumbasses who have been told this time after time, but their brain is stuck in "I can't accept that" mode because it conflicts with bullshit that one of their friends told them 10 years ago.

The wilful ignorance is painful to watch. And yet I watch anyway. Why, ATOT? Am I a masochist? Or do I just derive pleasure from knowing there are people in this world so much dumber than I?

Not only does the government now know where she lives and is coming for her guns and taxes, they are now coming after you for interacting with her.

The flu shot is government-designed to spread amongst those who interact with it and decides from whom taxes and guns will be collected.

Little known fact - in females, the vaccine causes an addiction to abortions. I bet she'll get three abortions this week.

59% effective, not the kind of odds you might hope for but better than nothing.
-KeithP

Kinda like DTaP needing 5 doses, and then the effectiveness fades quickly.

Companies have been using the same vaccine technology that was developed decades ago. What to improve vaccines so less have to be given, and the effects last longer.

"Why" do people need to take a flu shot every year, why do kids need 5 doses of DTaP to be considered fully vaccinated, only for the effectiveness to fade in a few years.

There is no doubt that vaccines are effective, but surely there is a way to make them better.
