Not worth the benefit? So we're just not going to vaccinate and let the chips fall where they may? Pray to Jeebus!

Continuing to deflect by asking inane questions is not making you look any brighter, Cletus.

Hehe, I see what you did there.

Oh, and OP is a moran. I'll just post Moonbeam's response in an other anti-vaccine thread he created.

This really confirms for me that you are a titanic idiot. It's irresponsible brain dead imbeciles like you that keep this vaccine shit alive threatening the lives of countless children. You are disgusting.

You don't merit a real response.

More like you do not have an answer.

What incentive is there to produce a flu vaccine that last 10 years, when big pharma can get you to buy their product every year.

What incentive does big pharma have to invest billions of dollars into research, when it might take decades to get a return on their investment.

One of my big worries is a stifling of technology due to investment:profit ratio.

Gibsons, myself and others posted all kinds of real responses. You just don't care to read them because they don't jive with your personal beliefs. So, you're either trolling or you're being willfully ignorant.

Why do you love guns, yet are pro-life?

Why do you rant about the gov being in our lives, yet DEMAND health care for your wife

Why do you have kids you can't afford?

Why don't you sell some of your guns and get your wife to the hospital, you selfish fuck.

Why are you fearful of an outbreak yet you have EIGHT FUCKING KIDS and thereby contribute to overpopulation.

Little known fact - in females, the vaccine causes an addiction to abortions. I bet she'll get three abortions this week.

Just got my flu shot, I'm going to die.

You'll have a product that destroys the competition. You'll own the marketplace and probably have a pretty high margin. It's hard to put a value on the prestige gained, but it's there. Also, new customers are born every year.

Anti vax 'noids will still argue against it.

I am a moron for asking a question? The only stupid question is the one that did not get asked.

I never said I was anti-vaccine. In fact, I am in favor of vaccines.

But I do question big pharmas ability to respond to a new virus. It took 10+ years for the HPV vaccine to hit the market, 20+ years later and no HIV vaccine in sight.

Where does this leave the future of mankind when a new viral infection is unleashed?

EDIT

There was a program on the Discovery channel talking about how the Russians had bio-engineered antibiotic resistant bubonic plague. If something like that were released, one of our only options would be vaccines, but how well could big pharma respond to a new threat.

I brought my dog in to get a kennel cough vaccine. 2 days later the dog comes down with kennel cough. The vet charges me another 200 dollars for a vet visit diagnosis and antibiotics. The vet lives in a million dollar house, I wonder why.

Vets generally do not live in million dollar houses, bro.

Humans have been on this planet for hundreds of thousands of years and yet.. human species, somehow, survived the test of time. I wonder why?

Take HIV for example, a new virus emerged, CDC dropped the ball, and big pharma has been unable to develop a vaccine in 20+ years.

lol--are you fucking serious?

only one person dropped the ball: Reagan. end of story. it was his idea for the "gay solution" to downsize the CDC HIV task force, after they had provided ridiculous amounts of data in the early months of the outbreak.

Reagan: that is all. He very much hoped that it would "take care of the gay problem."

That is history out of his own fucking mouth.

Once a company reaches a certain level of profit, is it worth the invest to improve the profit by a marginal level?

so, what do you suggest after this assumption that you have made?

The government should take over drug development and healthcare, seeing as how they have no profit incentive?

No, not end of story.

When the CDC asked blood banks to screen for Hepatitis (because a lot of people that had HIV also had Hepatitis), the blood banks put up a fight because the testing was going to cost money.

How much money does the government give drug companies?

Why bother with logic when you can ask mysterious questions and stir people up..?
