I thought of a way to defend long field goals in football.

Anyone tall enough to block a field goal by jumping really high and swatting it is probably playing basketball.

They could grease one player up real good in vasoline and have 4 players hit him from all angles at the same time; thus creating enough upward force to launch the greasy player to succesfully block the attempt.

Have you ever stood near a field goal? Can YOU jump up HIGHER than the bottom of the field goal to block a football? Can you jump 40 feet into the air to block a field goal that's kicked high?

Bawhahahaha....do you REALLY think ALL FG go through the uprights 30-40 feet in the air?!?!? Some,many,alot just barely clear the bottom bar and could easily be knocked down before the ball went through. I've never seen it done,don't know if its legal but its far from being a "stupid idea".

I have been to and played in a biilion rugby matches and I have no friggin idea wtf you are talking about...

You've never seen a match where a player has been lifted to block a kick at goal?
It's happened more than once in international matches, as far as I remember.
