I thought it was illegal to deny someone water at a restaurant?

No wonder everyone thinks you're a tool. Any crime is a "crime" by your definition if you're caught. Why don't you go kill someone, as it's not a crime unless the cops catch you  Idiot.

In the majority of cases my morals and principles don't align with senseless murder and crime.

Cool personal jab you lead off with...everyone takes your input to heart too I'm sure!

My brothers house has a well, still have to pay for the electricity to run the pump.

I can't believe people pay for bottled water.
You do know that brands like aquafina are just tap water thats been filtered.

If my grandfather were alive now he wouldn't believe people pay what they do for water in stores.

If the bottled water you get tastes better than what you can get from the tap, whats the difference than buying a soda? With either one you're just paying for a beverage you like the taste of. Unless its an energy drink, almost no one can claim its for the nutritional value.

I cant stand the tap water in my area, it taste like rocks, even when filtered. Aquafina tastes much much better. I can taste a distinct difference between aquafina, fiji, arrowhead etc. I always like aquafina better.

IMO, its kinda like this. You can get dirt anywhere for free. But if you want **consitantly** good dirt for gardening, you buy the potting dirt from the store.

yes but that is electricity. not for the water itself.

some people have to buy bottled water. the city near me has such bad water they have been sued at least 3 times because people are getting sick. its better to buy water from the store. yes its tap water but its tap water from a diffrent area ran through a RO system.

I used to go to raves and they would turn off the water in the toilets. You could either pay $5 for bottles of water or dehydrate and die.

I'd say no problem. Calmly finish my meal. and then leave with out paying the check.

If I went to any place that did that, they would not get my patronage again.

sometimes i wonder how (if?) the members of ATOT function in the real world

What's wrong with the 3rd quote? That is the correct way to respond to a business that has a policy you disagree with.

I am the first quote. I never said I wouldn't pay, I said I would leave. When I sit down the first thing they do is ask about drinks, I usually get iced tea or just water. If they said I had to pay for the water, I would say "No thank you" and find a better restaurant.

If a restaurant is in such bad shape they need to charge for water, who knows what's going on in the kitchen...

I don't think "davestar" can read very well. It's amazing to believe he can function in the real world.

I was told that it's a law. I was simply inquiring whether or not this was true. I never said I thought it should be a law, nor did I complain about being charged.

Go shut the fvck up

Never rented I see

Apparently ou never had, because if you had, you would notice that the "rent" has the water included in it, not *FREE WATER*

Whether I use a drop of a water or a million gallons of water a month, it's costs me the same. Since the cost is absorbed in a fixed monthly fee, as I approach infinite amount of water used, the cost per unit approaches $0.

Hence the water is free

No its not.

It most certainly is, from my point of view. .00000000000000000000000000000000000000001 cents per gallon is free, for all intents and purposes.

What government school did you go to? For the record, you also pay the taxes of the place you rent from. But you would not believe that because it is included in the price.

What you fail to understand is that water/sewer is included in your rent. Use an excessive amount of water and be sure that when your lease is up, your rent will be increased to cover the cost. Water may seem free to you but it really isn't.

I'm not quite sure why my reading comprehension is being called into question. I never claimed that 911paramedic said he would run out without paying. I quoted him because I think it's crazy that he (or anyone) would have a strong reaction to being charged $0.05 for water. I'd hate to see him in Europe where the vast majority of restaurants only serve bottled water.

You've got to pick your battles. If a restaurant's water-charging practice rankles someone that much, I'd hate to see how that person would react to actual adversity.

cup charge.

IMHO if you are being served anything, it should not be free. I like water with my meal if I am drinking...but I am not this kind of person that downs glass after glass and bishes that they need more water everyting a server runs by.

I think it's a diet thing or something.
