I'm glad you watched the after-game show and heard that comment made by Boomer, too. Made Marino cringe a bit when it was made, though....guess it was a bit painful to be left-handedly reminded of his great on-field successes but ultimate failure.

I wouldn't count him out just yet. It took John Elway a while to win the big one. once he was surrounded with good talent and coaching, he won it all.

Peyton will get his ring one day (I think).

2 words...Terrell Davis.

It's so sweet, after all the smack the colts talk (especially that vanderJERK), they have to eat fistfuls of crow 😀

Who besides Vanderjagt talked smack?

What is the deal with the constant ragging on Peyton and the Colts?

They're getting better every year, were beat by a better Pats team, and Manning is still a young quarterback. They'll be back. It's WAY too premature to say he'll never win a Super Bowl. Seriously - how can you all say that with a straight face? Silly haters.

Yeah. I have to agree. I'm only a casual football fan, and I'm a Pats fan since I live in New England and it's mandatory 😉 , but some of you guys need to let this go. The only that really talked smack was Vanderloser, but he's known for that, and what he said is quite tame really. Ever since they lost, all I've heard from the rest of the Colts is compliments for the Pats, and no excuses...so let it go guys....PLEASE.

🙂

Where are they going to get the money for a good D if they have to pay Peyton all those bucks? Cut back on the Offence?

They need to trade Edgerrin(as much as I like him) for a shut down corner or safety. It's obvious that Rhodes can start(based on 01 or 02 when he started 12 games and was on pace for 1600 yards, and has a high average since), and moving James to somewhere like Miami(where he's from) for some of their defense would certainly help. But this 75% offensive payroll crap isn't going to get them anywhere.
They've been my favorite team since 94, but they don't seem much more intimidating now than they did then. At least as far as winning 3 or 4 in the playoffs in one year.

I think the constant ragging on Peyton and the Colts is because of the "NFL Experts"
ESPN is a great example. After the Broncos game 9 out of 10 of them choose the Colts over the Patriots.
Just before game time, Vegas was giving the Patriots points at home.

Looking at 2003, when Peyton and the Colts didn't have to punt in two games and crushed Denver and KC, and this year with Peyton breaking the TD record, and the Colts crushing Denver (yet again), you have bandwagon backlash. In 2003 everyone though the Patriots who had not lost in the last 13 games couldn't match the Colts. And everyone jumped on the Colts bandwagon. They lost and the bandwagon unloads, and its not pretty when the bandwagon unloads, because since everyone is wrong, they have to point the blame somewhere, and Peyton and the Colts are it, rather than NE was the better team. The same thing happened this year.

The problem is and always will be with Manning, Harrison, and James, they don't have money for defense. They have Dwight Freeney right now, but what happens when it contract is up. They cannot afford all four of those guys.

THey need to get JOhn Gruden to come in and finish the job for DUngey like he did at Tampa.

ENd of story.

YES! Somebody caught this besides me! I posted this on ATOT on Sunday but it went under the radar. Quite possibly the funniest unintentional comedy moment ever at an anchordesk.😀

I believe E James is an unrestricted FA this year so he has no trade value.
